Hello. Good friend! I appreciate you chatting with me in Japanese. And I respect your sincere attitude. In ancient Japan, people fished just for eating. However, as culture developed little by little, I think fishing eventually reached the point where it became a means of thinking about how to live as a human being. Just like in many arts and sports, ``Tsugaru Uneme'' teaches us that the goal is not just fishing results. The spring breeze is blowing in your country, and it's finally fishing season. Enjoy a little adventure with your own rod. Just listening to the voices of birds and feeling the seasons carried by the wind will surely enrich your life. It is more valuable than material wealth. Good luck and good health to you and your wife. Taka

Hi Jay! I'm also very happy to see you again. "Haruichiban" is the name of the wind that heralds spring, and since ancient times in Japan there has been a belief that gods reside in all phenomena and things. My grandfather taught me many things in life through fishing. One day, my grandfather said something like this and laughed. He said, ``Skipping school and going fishing will enrich your life,'' and on another day he said this. ``Many of the problems in life are not so bad that you can't catch a fish. The worst thing you can do is give up and not think about it.''I feel that fishing is a philosophy. @TAKA_ojfc3 ай бұрын
of course! The length of the rod is 80cm. The line is made of nylon thread that is slightly longer than the rod. In ancient times, women's hair was used. A float is used with a hole in the center, and the size is around 1 cm. The sinker is adjusted to the limit so that the float does not sink. Hooks for tanago fishing are sold at fishing tackle stores, but they are still too big, so I cut a commercially available hook and file it down while looking through a microscope. The hook line uses silk thread and connects it to the nylon line. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thank you!

Hello! The climate of Japan, which stretches from north to south, is a little special. In some regions, it snows up to 2 meters in the winter, while other warm regions never experience snow at all. I live somewhere in the middle, so it's hot in the summer and snowy in the winter. It's great that you are trying to make tanago rods! There is value in trying anything. The narrowest piece of the rod is made by shaving bamboo into thin pieces. It is important to taper without making it too thin. The craftsman's name is written by himself on the cloth case in which the rod is stored. Items with this name printed on them are replicas. The original rod is sold in a cloth case with the craftsman's name written on it. This name is written in lacquer and cannot be duplicated. This is also a way to preserve the traditional skills of craftsmen for future generations. sorry. I'm not on Instagram. I am grateful and happy that Jay is interested in tanago fishing and has written a lot about it. Thank you.😊

Hi Jay. Thank you for your respect. I'm not good at English either, so I use Google Translate. My name is TAKA and I am a photographer in Japan. Please feel free to call me Taka. I'm glad that you are interested in Japanese fishing. Let me answer some questions. The rod used in this video is approximately 80cm long. The length when closed is approximately 24 cm. The bamboo used to make the pole is called "yatake" in Japan. Yatake is a type of bamboo that was used to make arrows for bows in the past. This bamboo is dried for about three years and then carefully crafted by qualified craftsmen. The rods are painted with lacquer and gold leaf, sometimes mixed with shell powder. The yellow particles on the line are for catching fish bites that don't appear on the float. Even if the float doesn't move, you can tell when the line is going diagonally. Please feel free to ask any questions. I'm sure I can answer your question. Good luck to my Canadian friend.

@@stephenjackson1828 Hello. thank you! Many anglers in Japan consider the UK to be the holy land of fly fishing. I think so too😃 The scene where a fly line draws an arc in a river rich in nature is art in itself.
