So, you just coat the top and not the sides??
@emwal50843 ай бұрын
part of the reason why the print is so dark is likely due to the negative. Usually, when you create a digital negative for any printing process, you need to apply an adjustment curve (specific to your exposure unit/printing process) before inverting the colors to ensure that your range of tones are accurately represented while printing. It's not as simple as just turning an image into black/white, and then inverting that. A lot of photographs that are originally taken in color have much lower contrast and a less diverse range of grayscale tones, so you don't see as big of a difference in your lights/highlights & darks/shadows. So the end result is a print that looks more one tone. I am sure there are tutorials out there to explain how to figure out the curve needed; fortunately, the art school I work at has someone in the photo department who has already figured it out for our equipment. When I have tried to do it myself to have negatives printed on transparencies at FedEx, I have had similarly dark results.

If I'm not wrong the more time you leave it on the sun, the darker the blue will be
@emwal50843 ай бұрын
depends on the strength of the sunlight that day. the exposed chemical should turn a dark bronze/gray color when it's done
@emwal50843 ай бұрын
it's better to overexpose rather than underexpose. If you underexpose, the print will likely start to fade away when you rinse the chemical out

nise video. just a heads up. i have an old home, about 120 years old and my sealing is the same as yours. rafters and wires exposed. i stapled on an old cotton sheet to it and it looks wonderful. after a year you'll need to replace it because dust builds up inside it. also i put a furnace filter in front of the sealing fan. works great in filtering the dust. thanks for the video. i'm going to make a few eventually.

the resin didn't stick to the sides because you overheated it when you were trying to blend the colours. The heat thinned the resin too much. You can use a cool air dryer or even a straw and your own breathe to avoid thinning it too much. Otherwise.. great job!! ❤

I was stuck on my project until I seen your video. Idk why I didn’t think of this! I have these little spoons that came with my coffee set & I tried lightly coating them in resin & letting it rest on the silicone mat- lol it was an epic fail, but now I know it needs to be resting off the table.

You'd possibly have many more subscribers, but many people are in recovery...or simply CAN'T have a drink because of their health...but it's your channel, call it what you will..right? As for your instructional video, you never mentioned the black paint to white glue ratio...so I had to stop watching to find a crafter that I know gives complete, detailed instructions....and many people don't like the creamy look, they'd rather have the translucent aka see thru with a textured effect... just thought I'd share this with you.

FYI, bottled water is often less pure than tap water, or is just tap water. You'd be better off using distilled water, with some glycerin added to prevent any algae or bacteria growing in the bottle later on. You can also use rubbing alcohol, but it's not super safe to use it with a natural cork stopper.
