@@SusannahPerri No problem. I love your face, your hair and your outfit. I don't understand how you can be criticized. I have had non surgical facial toning treatments and have recently bought a NuFace device which sends microcurrents through the fact to tone the muscles. I also tone my face with ice cubes in water and slices of cucumber. I also had a problem with thinning hair and for awhile I did use a hair topper. However, I began having micro needling treatment which re stimulated my hair follicles. I bought my own micro needle and use it each week. My hair is now much fuller and thicker.
@SusannahPerri9 ай бұрын
@@susangavaghan wow you’ve taken a lot of action! I’ve never heard of micro needling the scalp. My hair came back a lot, but not entirely after going off a medication that I found out one of the major side effects was thinning hair. I had super thick hair when I was young. I do understand that as we age our hair thins, but mine had gotten shockingly thin! It is better now. Regarding nasty comments, it’s just easy for certain people who are obviously not very happy to anonymously attack people on the Internet. It’s OK, fortunately most people are very kind😊
@susangavaghan9 ай бұрын
@@SusannahPerri I think a few factors contributed to my thinning hair. I used to blow dry it and also started using a cheap hair dye during a time when I needed to save money. I have stopped blow drying my hair and I began using henna dye. I take vegan biotin gummies regularly as well as kelp tablets and I use filters on my tap water as this prevents harmful chemicals in the water which can damage the hair. I use a rice shampoo bar which helps with hair regrowth. I was very upset and self conscious about my hair loss - though lots of people said the hair topper took 10 years off my age. I do use a hair thickening spray on my crown called Mane and when going out I wear extensions. I would say it took around 2 years before my hair grew back to it's usual thickness; also because of the blow drying and cheap dye it was in very poor condition. Now it is in much better condition and looks healthy and shiny. I used to have regular facial toning treatments as a local salon for a reasonable price but the salon closed. As you say people who say nasty stuff must have sad lives. The main thing is you look and feel great.

Interesting to see that in the US they wrap the head and chin with gauze in the first days. Here in Europe we have special polyester-lycra hood compression coverings to hold the incision areas compressed. They come in beize, black, or white and look similar to what Muslim women wear under their scarves to cover their hair. It's a lot easier that way to dash out and get groceries without attracting too much attention, like a gauze bandage does. I got my FL in the winter so with my winter jacket, hat, scarf and hood-compress all in black it just looked like a covering to keep my head warm.

My 6 1/2 month old son was just diagnosed with type 2. We have been doing PT and OT for months for tortocollis, wondering why he still has the head tilt even though we’ve strengthened the neck muscles. I started noticing the occasional upwards eye shoots around 3/4 months but read that some strabismus can normal up until 6 months. In my son’s case it wasn’t getting any better and I linked it to the tortocollis issue. The OT, PT, and I recognized that looking to the right triggered it. My son hates looking to the right for that reason! Luckily our pediatric ophthalmologist is amazing and very knowledgeable. She could tell that my son is making a conscious effort to tilt his head in order to keep his eyes straight. Our pediatrician is sending us to an orthopedic doctor as well and doing scans to double check that there’s nothing orthopedically wrong with the neck. But the Duane’s syndrome is definitely contributing. I also suspect my fiancé has undiagnosed Duane’s syndrome as well! I know only 10% of cases are genetic but his left eye does the exact same thing that our son’s does. And all the pictures of him as a young child consist of a head tilt! He grew up in a very small town in Maine so it’s possible it wasn’t ever diagnosed. Up until now he just thought he had a lazy eye.
@SusannahPerri10 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for watching and commenting! I am not familiar with tortocollis. It sounds like you found a good pediatric opthamolgist. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and my DS wasn't discovered until I was 14, so I think it's just so rare that most eye doctors just aren't testing for it. I have some pictures of myself when I was around 5 months old in which you can see I am tilting my head just a bit, but I guess no one ever thought it was unusual! Please do your son the biggest favor and never talk about his Duane Syndrome in a way that might make him feel something is "wrong" with him. The more casual you are about it, the better adjusted he will be and it should never undermine his self-confidence. Babies are so wonderful, you a lucky mama!
@Catturtlelover300010 ай бұрын
@@SusannahPerri so some babies develop muscle tension where there neck/head gets “cocked” to one side. he has the head tilt and torticollis. Torticollis can either be orthopedic, ocular, or neurological. And absolutely nothing wrong with him. He’s just perfect. I would never talk to him like that or try to make him feel like there’s something wrong with him. I personally have some peripheral vision loss so I would never talk to my son in that way. In your case, Duane’s hasn’t seemed to cause any major issues. My fiancé’s, very limited and he copes quite well. In my son’s case as a developing infant, it has caused some set backs which we’ve been working on in PT/OT. His left eye “up shoots” are pretty significant. He has to turn his whole body if he wants to look towards the right. From what I’ve learned, the severity of Duane’s can vary per individual and the treatment has to be individualized for each person. We are starting off with glasses 👓 and just keeping up with his neck mobility for now! The eye misalignment has made him extremely sensitive to the sun because lights coming in at all different angles. So we got transitional lenses. His is so severe his ophthalmologist did mention surgery but we would rather not do surgery as I’ve read “mixed reviews” in regards to it. Plus I don’t want to put him through that. Just doing what’s best for him right now so he can develop like any other kid his age.
