Glad to hear your Mom is recovering well. And Paige, if your problem is a rotator cuff and it has to be surgically repaired, try and find a surgeon that will do it arthroscopically if possible. I had mine done that way. Shorter recovery time, and easier surgery. Best of luck to you.

My daughter is also a type 1 diabetic. Diagnosed 10 years ago when she was 8. Unfortunately we didnt get a diagnoses until she almost died. I rushed her to the ER because i thought she had mono. She was in ketoacidosis and the doctor told me if i had waited until morning to bring her in, she would have died. We spent 2 weeks in the PICU. She handled the 500 finger sticks a day like a champ. It took years, but we finally got her a dexcom meter so no more finger sticks. As of a few years ago she has an insulin pump and no longer has to take shots. She is now a normal and healthy 18 year old away at college. She doesn't believe me, but she is my hero.
