I have a 9 tray Excalibur raw food oven, a large capacity dehydrator. I love it, as I like to conserve time and energy by doing large batches of things at once, especially while I have it down on the counter. The best banana chips I've ever eaten were hands down homeade browned overripe bananas. Nothing put on them. I cut them quarter inch thick, and the natural brown sugar concentrated in the center of each round, providing a carmelish crunch in the center was truly candy-like. the same thing happened when I made my own raisins and didn't dehydrate them like the store bought. They reminded me of that gum back in the 80's that had the sweet liquid flavor burst in the center. These also had a little crunch here and there from the crystalized sugar. Some of these dehydrated fruits really are a delicious complexity of flavors and textures when not overdried, and when the fruit is at it's peak. As a person with an apple tree whose done all the things, apple sauce, apple butter, I don't drink so no hard cidar, fruit leather in the vitamix with lemon juice and cinnamon and a touch of water is the fastest and most econimical way to preserve apples for years. Apple chips are great too, but time consuming if you are coating them in lemon juice to keep them from turning brown. laying out the peices on the tray will always be the most tediious part, spreading batter with a spatula goes fast once you get the hang of it. Thanks so much for the informational video

just FYI, Seventh-day Adventists do not eat vinegar, fermented or pickled foods. I guess other religions don't either. I just watched Dr. Thomas Seyfried information on cancer, especially GBM, and all types. Cancer is a problem when the mitochondria (cell energy) stops using respiration to make energy, but uses fermentation process; fermentation of glucose and glutamine. Glucose is easy to control with keto, but glutamine needs a drug DON and the like and its done on a pulse basis (on and off therapy) b/c the body (gut and immune) also need and benefit from glutamine. So it got me wondering about what eating fermented foods do. There are many other ways to improve gut microbiome. The thing with GBM which is deadly is that the vessels grow like railroad tracks through the brain's ventricles, myelin and everything, so surgery or surgery alone can not kill it! They can't get to much of it. They die from intracranial pressure. Radiation is given which kills off things and increase brain fluid, and then the person is given steroids to manage the brain swelling which steroids increase glucose. (cancer needs glucose and glutamine). I also wonder about the Gerson therapy --- juices and how that would play into this? and if it could be a part of treatment (maybe pulsing on and off?). Going into ketose diet, then transitioning into water only fast 14-30 days is tremendous!

Lots of misinformation/misleading the viewer without providing ANY actual SOURCES in which anyone interested in this topic would obviously like to follow up on….this is precisely why the internet is so dangerous now. I actually haven’t come across a video that is _this_ bad (where the person talking doesn’t mention any credentials of their own, so we can assume there are none….) until now, which I guess is a good thing? When someone speaks as if they have the authority with which to consult others on health matters, and proceeds to throw out a few pieces of “info” that are simply undeniably incorrect (most people wouldn’t catch it, but I’ve been dealing with a slew of severe health issues that started to flare to the extent that it got in the way of how I could live my life for over a decade now-just turned 33….i was diagnosed with leaky gut before the severe issues even flared (which was after an acute mono infection)…infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, a lovely tick borne parasitic infection along with late stage Lyme disease and other coinfections/POTS/PANDAS/heavy metal toxicity/mold illness just to give an idea of how much I’ve had to dive in and learn so that I can heal the right way (aka sans antibiotics, other than taking doxy for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever for 6 months). It was actually eating NON-FERMENTED SOY (I was vegetarian/vegan off and on…now am more informed and plant based) that caused my doctor at the time (who was the best diagnostician and alternative doctor in my city, which is huge-I found him after the initial diagnosis which came after being totally failed by 14 allopathic western medical practitioners. He was so concerned and disturbed by the levels of estrogen in my body (obviously most not natural, aka the soy products weren’t being detoxed from my body…thus building until it had reached toxic levels. My face developed SEVERE cystic acne at the age of 27 (I’d only had the very occasional pimple before this)…I ate tofu and soy _unfermented_ Braggs (aka liquid soy ketones/fake soy sauce) on a daily basis among other soy products. My doctor literally came into his office where I was waiting and was YELLING at me while pacing and talking about how “THIS IS HOW YOU GET CANCER!!!”…he eventually calmed down, and I would have likely cried from that but he got that out of the way during an initial appointment that led me to decide not to see him because of his horrific bedside manner. But the other LLMD reached a point where she felt lost and didn’t know what to approach with my health next, and thus I accepted the crazy genius and I’m so freaking glad I did. So please don’t freaking mention soy and and fermented soy and talk about how FERMENTED soy is what people should be wary of regarding cancer risks…when I assume you know that SOY PRODUCTS carry MUCH higher risks. I had to take 63 supplements throughout the day for 3 months (stopped other protocols so I could come close to actually taking them) in order to rebalance my hormones…it was the natural route (the only route that wouldn’t have increased cancer risks even MORE), but I learned then and there how essential our diets are-literally the most important factor-when it comes to our health and healing outcomes. So I studied nutrition like a mofo after that….and nowhere did I find *anything* remotely similar to what you said at any point in this video….which is scary. In mean…is this DELIBERATE fear mongering?!?

Right! Dr. Thomas Seyfried says that cancer cells feed off fermentation instead of oxygen. I was wondering if eating fermented foods would feed cancer cells. From what you're saying, it seems true. If so than all fermented foods do the same? I guess. Thanks!

Too much fermentation acid consumption = health compromise. It just needs to be avoided. There are no benefits that outweigh the downside... and that cannot be received from better food choices.

There is an exception which is Beet Kvass which is rather anti-cancer. Beet Kvass is fermented but low in sugars (since the sugar is converted). Please consider this? The research shows Beet Kvass to be helpful in treating both cancer and any sort of radiation sickness.

This is irresponsible misinformation. Putting fermented foods in the same category as pickled foods is ridiculous. They're completely different. If you want to claim anything at all you can find a small study that suggests it but doesn't prove it. Also...you praise up dried food, but many commercial drying processes use sulphites and other chemicals that are known to cause big problems for some people.

Is it bad for people with epilepsy to eat fermented foods? Ferments have alcohol and I was wondering if that can add up and harm me. I hear of all the benefits to the gut but can the small alcohol content be harmful? I've been avoiding alcoholic beverages but I have gut issues and fermented foods were suggested.
