Hi! Sorry I didn’t notice your question earlier: Yes , I use glide wax on these skis along with kick wax in the kick section of the ski. Have a great day!

These are beautiful! For kick does the ski function like a waxed classic ski where you apply glide wax front and tail with kick wax in the middle or is it more similar to a skate ski for pushing off?

Thanks for the comment. I will need to research that for my next pair of skis. I have seen old paintings with the carving on the top side and also on the bottom. Bergslien’s painting with two skiers from 1869 shows the carvings on top on one pair of skis and on the bottom on the other pair of skis. Then again, he was a painter not a ski maker. I rewatched the video of Olav Aasmundtveit making skis, and his carving is on the bottom as you say. Thanks for the note. Cheers.
