Hi Mark! Great video! I need to ask you if you can draw me a plan for a cone like this and how much you charge for this job. Thank you!!

A very intelligent and comprehensible presentation of an important geometrical aspect. Thanks. Regards!😀

This was very helpful. I am a math idiot but this was very clear and easy to follow. I frequently need to calculate frustrum patterns for different metalsmithing and engraving projects. Occasionally I can do it with dividers but so often it just isn't practical to do it in that manner.

Good to hear it was of use to you. Cheers

As someone who always struggled with maths, but is always tinkering and creating things out of metal, this was absolutely perfect! I own an old ring roller and could never quite work out the exact measurements, this was so helpful and easy to understand. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.

THANK YOU SIR !!! Amazing how many people on KZbin try to explain this and either miss the mark or make it complicated. I am a fabricator and bend a lot of metal and had to make a sheet aluminum circle for the first time.

greetings from Phoenix Az igot a Question? the swtch come with the torch? or how do you get the switch torch
@kingy002 Жыл бұрын
Most torches will come with a switch if you are buying a new welder. If you are only buying a replacement torch, you will be able to specify what sort of switch you want on it.

(Small original radius*diag distance) / (large original radius - small original radius) = small cone radius. Add diag distance to small cone radius to get large cone radius.

This is by far the best presentation way to teach someone on a board! Although I can't help but think about if the presenter or teacher has to draw the number inversed or is there a program that does it somehow?
@kingy0022 жыл бұрын
It is shot through a mirror which reverses it for me.

I have this Phoenix 505 Expert 2.0 puls MM TDM MIG welder. I was trying to weld aluminum with 4047 filler wire. Now its voltage correction knob is not working. It is freely rotating without any clicking sound and no change in the voltage correction value. How can I rectify this ?? Please help

Must have been around 05 I was doing a right off for a lad my 4 1/2 Silverline grinders backing pad was a bit worse for wear had it for years had a spare one I was given years ago went to stick it bloody hole was to small thought should I slaver on going to the auto-refinishers and buy one or spend 5 min's filing the who out cheapskate in me won , busy grinding BANG WTF switches grinder off big caught the edge of the metal ripped into flexy disc and put a nick in backing pad thought odd but just changed disc because I was almost finished switches grinder on awful vibration touched the job BOOM massive punch in the groin , pulls my pants down a bit monster red mark on the right hand side , cut a long story short I had put a low speed backing pad on a high speed grinder , next had a black n blue mark the size of my fist all because I was in cheapskate mode .

Would you apply a similar method for an offset cone or use the radial line method instead?
@liamhumm67853 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark. An oblique cone was what I was thinking, as you say it all comes down to the worker. Seems when you actually put the pattern on the sheet, everything changes when you start folding or rolling, especially on stainless. Thanks again 👍

What is the benefit of a lobster back compared to a usual 90 ? looks like it needs to be welded on regardless
@rtstephens912 жыл бұрын
It’s a more gradual bend so if something is going through it, it’s not just going to wear through the edge it hits if it was 90°
