Yes, Wolf Creek is excellent. I have bought quite a few things from them. Although I've repaired a few AM cylinders for people, this will be the first one I've put on a saw. I have heard about the plaiting issues, but all the big channels seem to have good luck with them. I will be sure to check all the bevels on the ports. Thanks for the comment 👍

just did my 025, the 025 muffler is nice because the clamshell just separates, theres no crimp to pry. i did almost the same as you did but i actually cut the whole top off the baffle, and i cut the outlet hole larger. feels so much better, way more responsive and more powerful.

My old Ariens 10M4 was made in 1965 and never came with a primer. In fact, there's a metal slug put in where the primer would go if it had one, but she still fires up on the first crank. I only use non-ethanol gas and I always shut the gas off under the tank and let it run till it burns all the fuel in the line and the carb and shuts off on its own.
@woodcutter4481
@woodcutter4481 17 күн бұрын
I got this one for free. A guy put a new carb on it and installed it incorrectly. The spacer plates, carb throttle springs, etc. were installed in the wrong order so it would not run. You're doing a great job with the fuel and shut off. Thanks for the comment 👍

Are you talking about 16" vs 18" bar? If so, the shorter 16" bar would would take less power to turn than the longer 18" bar making the saw a little more powerful. I hope this answered your question. Thank you.

@ Yea I love our ms250 it’s done everything I’ve ever needed it to do and had a little left to spare. And that being said there’s some mods I wish I could make, namely a better clutch cover, air filter, maybe two more inches of bar, and if they could just make a full chisel chain for it instead of buying Chinese chain. But other than that I’m pretty much in love. I know the saw can make more power too, they dial it backs a notch or two presumably for longevity

Very good Rob. I run the same Michelin tires on all my vehicles. I hand a plow years ago. I let it go with the truck. I was tired of people expecting me to plow for nothing. @woodcutter4481

I believe the u-joints were Borg-Warner brand from Fleet Pride and Spicer ball joints from my local parts store. I torch the cross out of the u-joint, cut a slice in the outside of the caps, and tap them out. I find this doesn't distort the yolk. There will be hot grease spatter, fire, and smoke, so be very careful if you cut them out, and do this in a safe area. Clean up the holes with sand paper or a brush, and clean up the flat surfaces where the clips go with a file. Good luck, and thanks for the comment.

@M2theBchainsaws Hello Mike, after looking back at things, I think this saw does not like the low raker setting like my other saws do. Originally, this saw seemed to do pretty well with the 32" bar and new EXL chain. This build is different, being my first 372 and a strato saw. The cylinder is in tough shape, but I have given it some intake timing and raised the uppers, but no cuts yet. I will see if I have another chain with a more appropriate raker height and give it a try. I'm back to work tomorrow 😞. Thank you.

@batsnvultures Hello, It's been a while, but I believe the SAE 75W GL-4 #88863349 was recommended in my owners manual. It took me about 5 months to get a quart of it thru a dealer out of Texas. This dealer just put it out on the parts locator and had it directly shipped to me when someone got an order of this fluid.I didn't want to chance using a different type from the local parts store, I wanted the original fluid. My local dealer ( a regular GM, not Cadillac) could not tell me for sure if there was an updated fluid. I'm not sure if I can find the info of the dealer I got it from, but I will look if you need it. Thank you.

At this point, I've cut some of the skirt, opened the lowers, thin base gasket, Hyway pop-up, and a muffler mod. I will start changing the intake and upper timing and hopefully improve a little. This was my first strato and a good one to play with. If it doesn't work out, it's no great loss. What did you mean by deleted the strato ports?I appreciate your comment. Thank you
