Oh my God.. I was looking for a hundred videos to know how to make this pretty same helmet for myself. When I found your video, I got speechless.. Your work just amazes me! I didn't find the template I was looking for, but I had to comment here how fascinating is this piece you just made. You did an amazing job!

Thanks! I'm wondering whether it is possible to soften a piece of cardboard so that it becomes more like a piece of fabric?
@MudbrainsTvDIY8 ай бұрын
Hi, I don't really understand 🙃 Do you want it to stay soft, like forever, or just temporary? For temporary just soak it in a 2:10 ratio mix of glue and water. After it became soft you can sculpt it and let it dry. Best wishes

Wow. I just can’t believe it. You just really inspired me to make even better and bigger projects with cardboard. I mostly make toys , a big house and such for my kid but wow. I didn’t even think of doing such detailed things.
@jeandoojune10 ай бұрын
I see this is an older video but I must say you made my day. I rarely see anyone take time and effort to work with cardboard and basically stuff you have at home to make cool things. My kid is into ghostbusters now so this video will definitely help me to make him a “toy” trap. I won’t build it as precise and awesome coz my toddler will most likely ruin it within a week but i have a better idea how to go about it. I love working with recycled stuff to make all kinds of things so thanks for making these vids.

Is there a place where the measurements for each of the pieces is shown? I want to do it for a school project.
@MudbrainsTvDIY Жыл бұрын
hi, thanks for watching. Hi some of the measurements can be read on the sketches. But i think the grid on my cutting matt might be the best indicator. Each small square is 1cm x 1cm. best wishes

Yes! To my surprise I’m actually doing this now with KZbin running in the background. I’m making a sci-fi set for a KZbin channel that I’m working on as well. I love the parts you got. Ive taken apart 3 old thrift shop printers ( really trashed out) and each one gives very different parts.

Regarding your comment about acrylic paints. They are OK once the surface is primed. I use Tamiya canned primer for model kits, kit bashing and trash bashing. The trash plastic to be cautious about with ANY paint is polypropylene. The surface is hard to paint with any paint, it's very 'slippery'. However some roughing up the surface with some sanding helps a lot. It is usually moulded pre-coloured because it is difficult to paint. Even after sanding you may have problems later, especially if using masking tape (it may lift the paint off!). Also when polypropylene has been cut or sawed the cut/sawed edge is hard to sand smooth. You can get around that by hiding rough edges with other plastic parts, trim, plastic card etc. Having said all that about PP, I have used polypropylene trash in some builds.
@MudbrainsTvDIY Жыл бұрын
hi, thank you for your detailed Breakdown. The most overall success i had are resin based Spray Cans. That stuff sticks to a whole lot of different Surfaces. I will try them on same PP pieces. Thanks again and have a good time.
