Do you have to be very good at jumps to do this eg. cant really jump really high or does the bike just jump over itself with the speed
@NewZealandMountainBiking19 күн бұрын
I am going to say yes. If you’re just relying on speed you’re just throwing fate into the wind. People have some pretty gnarly crashes because there is quite a bit of speed involved. You should get huckleberry (the section above) dialed. That’s a bit friendlier but still fast.

Love 'Dipper' its a regular go to for me... great to hear the granddad of MTbing rotaz been mentioned (Freditor) as his drive and passion for the region is why this place is a mecca for the sport now. Mtbing started in rotaz for me in '88/89 and by '91/92 Fred had organised social group evening rides approx twice a week (incl names like D. Hollows, M Bosomworth and B Shapely)and had ran some regional races incl a couple of DH comps at the gondola! Appreciate if anyone has heard what he's doing these days would be well received, last I heard after he and Tracey split he moved to Upper Hutt, before then he ran a small bike shop on Fenton st and that was several decades ago...

Yes to Fred in 1994, then the trees were thinned in 2012 and rebuilt/line cleared and cleaned with a few of us, Ash Edwards, Casey King, Digger. Someone (you know who you are), wanted to do a total rebuild and redesign BUT a few of us old school appreciators thought that this classic trail needed to saved, stay in the same context and style of old mate Fred and the classic old trail it is. Good to see an evolutionary upgrade, nice! Out There Industries

EVS is definitely one of the best trails in that forest, thanks for the warp speed tour! That day/night transition is hectic eh, add to that the light shining through and it really upped the warp speed effect, thought I was watching a space clip for a few seconds there...
