Да уж... ,если бы участвовали спортсмены из России, то они бы заняли весь пьедестал. Недавно прошёл этап Гран-при России.Что они там вытворяли))))

Thanks so much to the author for providing such a rare video! Pelletier, who in the video is still just a snot in a Soviet school uniform, is certainly something!... 😏 It was also very interesting to see his partner Julie: for some reason I always thought she was a technically strong skater, just like David.... 🤔 And it's a pity that this video also lacks the performance of French skaters Virginie Vuillemin and Remy Jacquemard (and I wanted to see them so much)...! 😞

Two more celebrities flying around the world adding to climate change to their "concerns" is so hypocritical. They needed to think before preaching to those who hardly ever leave their own home state let alone their country.

I’m loving all the Ledin footage. I had 91 SA ladies and other US nationals at one point. Wish ledin filmed worlds 😂 , some of those performances are missing

Nancy's LP music was a little strange to me. I think she used it again for her SP in '93? From the audience perspective, she LOOKS quite tall, statuesque even but is only 5'4) so I keep expecting a balletic, graceful program that seems to fit her look. So then the "Jazzercise" type program is just weird and clunky looking to me. It worked for Jill Trenary and Holly Cook, who came across as kind of "cheerleader-y", spunky, gymnast-looking. I don't know. The judges seem to love it but it doesn't give her time to smile...when Nancy smiles it's beautiful but when she has a neutral expression it looks like someone shut down a robot! Very disconnected and distraction. Anyone have any opinions on this?

93 she used Beauty and the Beast. However she had been using Born on the 4th of July (as she is here) for 2 years already. When you have a choreographer like Mary Scotvold who was heaven sent for Paul Wylie, made his flaws invisible and his best qualities shine. Mary just couldn't make the same thing happen for Nancy. Like you say, disconnected and robotic. We still see the same thing now, many times the most consistent skaters skate unemotionally bc they are so focused.

Nancy's face may have been TOO expressinve...when she smiles, she lights up the stadium, but when she's not smiling, that neutral expression makes her look completely vacant, like a robot that's been powered down. Which makes her seem completely disengaged from the whole experience.

Robin Cousins’ LP looks like Yuka Sato’s Technical Program at 93-94. Even Yuka Sato did that ending pose(??) as Robin’s.

Love the 6:52 mark! The greatest ice dancers of the last century are all on the podium, with the exception of the other couple who also received 12 perfect 6.0s in the early 1970s.
