03.12.2024. I am about to have radical bladder surgery due to bladder cancer, more then likely before Christmas. I thank you for this video. I have opted for a neo bladder. I do however wonder can I join the support group via zoom or Microsoft teams. I also have a story on how I have travelled to this point. Kia kaha Steve.

I have T1 High Grade NMIBC. I had a TURBT, afterwards my surgeon recommended Cystectomy. I instead opted for a 2nd TURBT "scraping" and Radiation and Chemo. Start Radio / Chemo on Dec 9 2024.

Hello, very interesting presentation. I was recently diagnosed with Ta bladder cancer. I was told I'm intermediate risk. I had a positive urine cytology, a cystoscopy, TURBT and will begin intravesicle chemo (Gemcitabine) in a few days. My pathology report stated that I had 95% low grate but that 5% of the tumor removed was high grade. Is this normal? Should I be considered "high" risk for invading cancer. Should my treatment be more aggressive? So many questions. Thank you for all your educational videos.

If you view cancer as a metabolic symptom my metabolic disorder was a rogue adrenal gland. Mild autonomous cortisol secretion was the bane of my bladder. Removal of muscle invaded cancerous bladder after the chemotherapy was not only necessary but improved my quality of life in numerable ways. The thing is I have a feeling it’s the Adrenalectomy that keeps the cancer away. Metabolically at 68 I’m sure I’m cured. I can even feel it in my bones. Osteopenia no more. lol

Thank you from an Australian patient. First large non invasive tumour in 2010, BCG in 2011 as many recurrences. Numbers settled but still appeared over the years and this July the large tumour was high grade. BCG again and in a few weeks a cystoscopy to have a good look. Cystectomy is looming. I am a non smoker, 77, with no other risk factors other than passive smoking. I feel more education to young people, doctors as they often misdiagnose and media coverage is needed. This is the same in Australia.

I found this forum so enlightening and must thank the organisers and participants. I'm in Australia and we have much to learn about making this information available to patients and families. It is sad we need to search overseas. Having said that, I'm grateful to have found a number of sites to help fill the gaps for me. I have been on the journey since 2010 when the first very large but non invasive tumour was found. I had it removed within 2 weeks of discovery. From then 3 monthly checks found many more tumours and finally I was given a course of BCG to slow the numbers. This did work but didn't stop them although I did have a couple of 2 yr gaps, the last one recently ending with a large high grade found during check up cystoscopy. I am now on another 6 week round of BCG then at the 12 week mark I will have surgery again to remove tumour/s if any that have grown. It has been said I may lose my bladder, which doesn't faze me as I'm no0w 77 and really don't relish this going on much longer. I do have my 82 yr old husband who needs me more now and we don't have children to support us. I will continue to watch your videos.

Why don’t you ever hear about upper track platter cancer I was sure love to hear about that. One nobody ever hardly talks about it cause it’s really rare but some people like myself need and want to know more about it.

I'll have my sixth BCG treatment next week for HG CIS. So far, I've had no side-effects at all, other than one day of frequency. If my cystoscopy in early Feb. 2024 shows some remaining cancer, is it the case that I should just continue BCG for longer?

Thank you for doing this! Very informative. I was found to have carcinoma in situ in 2/20 and was treated with TURBT and BCG. Recently a suspicious area was found, and I had a biopsy and intravesical Gemcitabine only last week. Waiting results. My question is,,, If cancerous cells can be seen in the urine with a special urine test, then why isn't this used all the time rather than expensive cystoscopes.?
