What makes this character so great it’s because Robert Stack delivered his lines very seriously like he would, if this was an episode of the crime drama series, the Untouchables from the late 50s early 60s

Which is ironic when you consider at first, he hated being in the film, due to believing the premise of the movie was extremely stupid, but tricked when learning that he was still somehow in it, therefore wanted his legal team to remove him from it. Which I mean, considering how inappropriate this movie is with it's jokes, especially the "cavity search" ones, I'm not too surprise. But he slowly began to warm up to the movie a few years later.
