it's because the past doesn't let him forget and he doesn't even want to let go of it. 😭 he may have found new friends, that he truly loves and cares about, but the vidmos of his one and only love and his son are still calling him. Especially because the first one magically made herself forget about him and currently suffers incredible pain as a consequence, and the latter is following his group and probably wouldn't hesitate to kill him 😭 he is my most extensively developed dnd character and knowing his psychological state I honestly don't know if he CAN ever be truly happy 😔 (like realistically, I'm his player, technically I could do anything, but it would be stupid)
