Only this video on KZbin helps, the others are just stupid shit like open the door and release the latch handle, if I can open the door, I dont even need to go to check how to solve the problem on internet.

I know an old video, but you need to reread that torque spec you mention at 14:30 is wrong, they call for 62lb.in, not 60lb.ft. It's not surprising it broke when attempting to put over 11x the spec on it. I normally look at the Nm torque spec as it's easier to work with in most cases.

Hi Thanks for all your information and answering a previous question for me. I now have another question for you. So when I Bought the OEM Brake Pads from the Dealership, they did NOT come with any Shims/ Anit Rattle clips. And when I took off the original brake pads, I didn’t see any Shims so I didn’t think anything of it and installed them like that. I’ve always had this small little Rattling noise from the rear when going over bumps at low speeds, and have not been able to find anything wrong with the Suspension. Finally I drove with the Hand Brake on slightly and the noise goes away. So my question is did your car have the Shims/ Anit Rattle Clips on the original brake pads? Your Mountune Brake Pads did already come with the Shims right? And I can’t seem to find any OEM Shims, do you know when I can purchase them? I can believe they don’t automatically come with the brake pads.

MCS cautions against using an impact to tighten the top nut. They advise tightening the nut just snug with a wrench or socket, then hitting the wrench with a plastic hammer for the final cinch. MCS states, “This is more than sufficient to secure the shaft to the top mount.”

You'd need to remove the latch itself to get the hood open, if it doesn't release because it's corroded like mine was. Two bolts using a 10mm socket on mine.

Hello, I’m just curious if you could have used that tool used to compress the front positions all at the same time, on the back? Is is because it does both sides at the same time? Or could you only compress one side if you wanted to with that tool. I’m asking cause you said it’s a good investment if you do it with any regularity. Which I plan to but am curious if it only works for the front.
@TCBxJeff4 жыл бұрын
From what I know, the rear pistons are not simply a push piston like the front. They actually twist as they press the brake pad upon use, hence a regular push tool won't work to push it back into place. That's why the adapter has the two protrusions so it can grip the pistion and twist it back in place. Hopefully that answers your question.
@CesarRamirez-hb1tt3 жыл бұрын

So the only reason you took off the caliper was to use your caliper tool? Better to get a caliper tool that doesn't require you to remove the caliper. www.jtctoolsusa.com/product/disc-brake-piston-separator-jtc-j01/

Is there’s a way to push back the piston without taking off the whole caliper?
@Alpha-Dog4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Unnecessary to remove the caliper and risks stripping the threads in the relatively soft alloy caliper. (yes I've done that...). I left the old/street pads in place and used three short flat blade drivers to carefully push them in. Yes it may make take a small chunk out of the pad, but that's worth it. If that worries you remove the pads and use two similar shaped pieces of hard wood. I'd only remove the caliper if the rotor needed changing. And definitely the caliper bolts need to be torqued accurately by turning the wheel to full lock for wrench access.
@tkdruss692 жыл бұрын
You don't need to take the caliper off,,look at other vids👍
