I have spent 10 years trying to remember who made this song.

I liked this song- on KZbin- where it showed a Sonic the hedge-hog in the background.

I remember my old friend playing this in my music class on a free day and we enjoyed it a lot but eventually he got closer with his friend Derek and got brain rotted half to death and we weren’t friends after that.

And the winner is Danny Weinkauf for the least amount of time elapsed closely followed by Dan Miller and John Flansburgh, then Dan Hickey and John Linnell bringing up the rear.

It's kinda surreal how we're watching a real band in the video mime playing along to a song that's actually being played almost entirely by drum machines and synthesizers.

I wanna know what's up with the "self-slap behind the ear while simultaneously smiling and slightly sticking out tongue" move that both Johns do at 0:52 , and then Flans does again at the end at 2:07

As a kid i loved this song because oh its all silly and fun but looking back at it in my late 20s and im like "woah this is really clever". Historical events through the 60s as seen through the eyes of a, not so reliable narrator, is just such a fun way to write about how drastically different people can see historical events. With the current issues of miss-information i feel like this song hits even harder now

All the music that is remembered for centuries is monarchist- and communism only exists when people stop remembering what happened just a few decades ago.

You really ate up the propaganda didn’t you? I can’t blame you though, it’s been indoctrinated into your thoughts and mind ever since you started elementary school. Reinforced year after year about the horrors of socialism that come from tales of the owning class, the ones who owned everything and exploited their fellow countrymen to turn a profit, being expelled or executed for their crimes of selfishness and greed

Ah yes, "Yankee Doodle Dandy", "La Marsellaise", the near entire works of Gilbert and Sullivan, "Singin' in the Rain", "Twist & Shout", "House of the Rising Sun", "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band", "Purple Rain", "We Didn't Start the Fire", "Smooth Criminal", "Don't Stop Believing", "Can't Touch This", "In the Air Tonight", "Crazy Train", "Con Te Partiro", "Come as You Are", "Gangstas' Paradise" Who could forget such classics of monarchist fervour? 🤣😂🤡🤣😂
