One day I woke up, rolled around in my bed, did whatever, got up, walked downstairs and saw Strong Sad on my TV. I can't really explain how I felt after, but it was something I won't forget

Really not sure how Will Toledo fit the name of his lover into this song's lyrics The syllables don't even fit right!

I think I figured I out. A mental disorder called psychosis can make people think that words make sense in their own mind, but is a bunch of nonsense to everyone else. The song is from the perspective of a person who has psychosis and is trying to explain something important to someone, but this Is all he can say, which makes sense to him, but not to the listeners.

"Not back on it, Joe. STILL on it." Absolutely legendary. I wonder if the guys who recorded that tape could have ever guessed where their little salesman casette tape would end up.

Heard this after I damaged the nerves in my left wrist and tail bone after a bad fall on some concrete steps. took months of physical therapy to walk or use my left hand. Softball sized wound on my back. So grateful for the nurses and doctors who have helped keep me alive. ❤❤❤

One of the things I really like about John Linnell is that he has stated in multiple interviews that his songs almost always never have any “deeper meaning” and that they should be taken at face value. I’ll spend a lot of time trying to decipher some deep, meaningful critique of society of human nature in his lyrics meanwhile Linnell probably just saw a video of a dog staring at a door and thought “I should write a song about this”

The section about acknowledging his negative thoughts being foreshadowed in the instrumental earlier in the song is *genius.* It's coming; it's just below the surface, and he knows it. He can't stop it, he knows it's coming... But what else can he do?

James Connolly (as is so often the case with anything even tangential to communism) put it best: “Until the movement is marked by the joyous, defiant singing of revolutionary songs, it lacks one of the most distinctive marks of a popular revolutionary movement; it is the dogma of a few and not the faith of the multitude.”

I remember when this was released in the UK, sitting in front of the TV, poised, ready to record the video if they played it on The Chart Show. There was no particular reason to suspect they would. But they did. It paid off. Saw TMBG play live for my first time this week. Incredible.
