A friend of my wife was at home. She had a loaded .38 revolver. Someone she didn't know, knocked on her door late at night. She yelled at him through the door to go away. Instead, he produced an electric drill and proceeded to try to drill out the lock on her door. As she sat in her living room with the .38 pointed at the door, she began to pray that he would succeed in breaking in so she'd have an excuse to shoot him. No if you think that having the gun was what "caused" her to want to hurt him, I can see why you might think she shouldn't have a gun. On the other hand, if you think having the gun was what "caused" her to want to hurt him, I can only feel sorry for your utter lack of logic.

my god america, you guys don't even read the 2nd amendment correctly, where is the well regulated militia ? also, why do you have to have such a variety of guns, can you not reduce it down to 1 type of hand gun, 1 type of rifle ? no, you gotta put every type of gun every made for sale in your country, it is no longer about the 2nd amendment its about making money, as is everything in your backwards country. if you really wanted to protect your family then buy a lock for your doors and windows, if you are out in public then call the cops. if you were in a school and had a gun then some idiots starts shooting. do you pull out your gun and try to defend someone who isn't your family ? if you did then good on you, but here is what else you idiot yanks need to think about, in that situation, how can the cops tell if you are the good guy or the bad guy, all they will know is someone is shooting. they would end up shooting you because they are a little to trigger happy. Some people want to make a scene about children being trained with firearms. But consider this: an educated child; a child that is taught to respect firearms through education and hands on experience is going to be far less likely to make bad decisions where firearms are concerned. Its children that have nothing to go on but what they see in their video game world - where murder and mayhem are "normal" - that act out irresponsibly with firearms.

Shooting targets with adult supervision has nothing to do with unattended kids with machetes. I don't even own a gun but have been shooting and have brought my son shooting as well. Let's not internationally bash here. I'm sure there is plenty about your own country that I wouldn't find pleasing either. But that's ok, it's your way of life.
