I have a "Spirit Box" communication KZbin channel, dedicated to ALL those Lost at Sea...I use modern tech, an app that allows the living, to speak with the dead. Since memorials to those lost at Sea are few and far between, I use the famous Gloucester Fisherman image as an example of one such memoriam. ❤

A friend of my wife was at home. She had a loaded .38 revolver. Someone she didn't know, knocked on her door late at night. She yelled at him through the door to go away. Instead, he produced an electric drill and proceeded to try to drill out the lock on her door. As she sat in her living room with the .38 pointed at the door, she began to pray that he would succeed in breaking in so she'd have an excuse to shoot him. No if you think that having the gun was what "caused" her to want to hurt him, I can see why you might think she shouldn't have a gun. On the other hand, if you think having the gun was what "caused" her to want to hurt him, I can only feel sorry for your utter lack of logic.
@Flawlessx698 жыл бұрын
If she really looked for an excuse to shoot somebody, she is mentally ill. Or she was never thought the value of life. The value of life seems not to be tough properly in the USA in general. In other countries, people protect themselves from intruders until the police is there. The police handcuffs criminals (after tazering them or shooting them in the leg). In the USA, everyone attacks the criminal tries to kill them right away. Americans are so proud of being a good shot, but still can't aim for a leg.
@rogermetzger73358 жыл бұрын
I wrote that the woman in question wanted to "shoot" the would-be intruder. I got the story second hand so I don't pretend to know whether she wanted an excuse to "kill" him.

What a wonderful young lady! She is so right!! By the way; while more Americans own guns today; gun-related deaths are at an all-time low. Lows not seen in over 40 years. Hmm... think maybe people with guns are scaring off criminals? I know I did. 3 men THOUGHT they were going to attack me, but my SW.38 changed their minds. This was in 1979, when I was a lot younger, my boyfriend at that time insisted I take his gun and put in in my car to have for protection, because of the hours I worked. Boy, am I glad I had that gun!!

I think I saw some really stupid ideas in here, and less gun less death? LOL. They have to explain, why the KOREAN's SUICIDE LATE PER CAPITA in OECD STATISTICS is way higher than Americans. Oh, Japan either, but JAPAN is lower rated than KOREA. IT IS NOT TALKING ABOUT THE NORTH, I'm talking about the SOUTH. And, the MAJOR CAUSES OF GUN DEATH is not the crime, the suicide. IF YOU think people would not kill themselves because the government took the gun, it is just proof of stupidity of themselves. The many country in the Highest Suicide per capita statistics can proof that people can kill themselves very well without a single bullet.

my god america, you guys don't even read the 2nd amendment correctly, where is the well regulated militia ? also, why do you have to have such a variety of guns, can you not reduce it down to 1 type of hand gun, 1 type of rifle ? no, you gotta put every type of gun every made for sale in your country, it is no longer about the 2nd amendment its about making money, as is everything in your backwards country. if you really wanted to protect your family then buy a lock for your doors and windows, if you are out in public then call the cops. if you were in a school and had a gun then some idiots starts shooting. do you pull out your gun and try to defend someone who isn't your family ? if you did then good on you, but here is what else you idiot yanks need to think about, in that situation, how can the cops tell if you are the good guy or the bad guy, all they will know is someone is shooting. they would end up shooting you because they are a little to trigger happy. You only have the right to form a militia and arm said militia not walk about the country with a gun in you back pocket, does not say that in the 2nd amendment. if you are a good gun owner you should want very tight restriction on guns because you of all people should know that it is a tool to be respected and not everyone should have one. We can buy guns here in Australia, you just need to get a permit, prove that you can store it somewhere safe i.e a gun safe, show that you have had training, get a police check and give a reason as to why you would like to have a gun.......do these sound ridiculous to you, if they do then you are a dumb cunt my friend! guns are a dangerous tool and should be treated as such. dumb cunt!

+Daniel THE AUSTRALIAN Dumesny you're very lucky to be able to think that way and believe that what you proposed are solutions.
@evilizedempire95009 жыл бұрын
+Daniel THE AUSTRALIAN Dumesny I think IF American did reduce 1 type of rifle and handgun, it is proof of stupidity, because the COSMETIC TYPE of GUN is not make any of performance different. That is why some AR15 Demonizing fetish is just fetish, and the problem is they probably do not even see the real assault rifle. And in the America, if you locked the door and called the police, you will murdered by invaders before cops arriving, because cop coming needs a time but criminals who want rape you, murder you and robbed and loot your house is always very close. Try hard to resist them BEFORE the cop coming. Good luck. And, I also doubt you read American's second amendment; "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". It says two different context.
@danieltheaustraliandumesny44828 жыл бұрын
+1911GreaterThanALL why would they say a well regulated militia if they meant wanted everyone to have arms. I only talk about this and try to discuss this because Australia and America are allies and have been for a long time. This is what I consider a cultural exchange. You can't deny that gun homicides are higher in America than Australia.

You really need to put the paint chips down. A young woman, such as this girl would be completely unable to defend herself against two grown men should they break the lock to her house while she is home alone. And that's why we aren't stupid like you. Give her education and the tools to defend her life in any situation. Until they make a Police teleportation device guns will be the equalizer in many people's defense. Your government took your Liberty so that you would rely on them and pay them more money at the expense of your God given right to defend yourself how you see fit! You are zombies.

Some people want to make a scene about children being trained with firearms. But consider this: an educated child; a child that is taught to respect firearms through education and hands on experience is going to be far less likely to make bad decisions where firearms are concerned. Its children that have nothing to go on but what they see in their video game world - where murder and mayhem are "normal" - that act out irresponsibly with firearms.

Shooting targets with adult supervision has nothing to do with unattended kids with machetes. I don't even own a gun but have been shooting and have brought my son shooting as well. Let's not internationally bash here. I'm sure there is plenty about your own country that I wouldn't find pleasing either. But that's ok, it's your way of life.
@Jimmy2times909 жыл бұрын
"I've been shooting since I was 8". Wow! Do you know how insane that sounds to a non-American like myself, it would be like saying "yeah the kids are out back playing with their machetes, leave them to it".........US gun nuts are too much.
@mrmc92789 жыл бұрын
I've owned a gun and have been shooting since I was eight as well. I'm now 41. Funny, I've never shot anyone. See, where I was born we teach our children to respect firearms from a very young age. In doing so, our children are far less likely to be involved in an accidental shooting. My 13 year old has already been through a firearm training and safely course in which he received a license. The fact is guns are everywhere in my country. I would rather my children be taught to respect firearms and be trained in how to use them than to be at a friend's home, find a weapon, and start playing with it because he didn't know that it wasn't a toy.
@GospelOfThomasMcSwain9 жыл бұрын
+James Johnson My dad taught me to shoot at a young age and, being 22 now, I have yet to have a close call or misfire. He drilled into me the safety rules before he ever let me shoot. That's something that has never even temporarily slipped my mind. I know a lot of people that have had the same upbringing with guns as I have that are very serious about gun safety. I know kids who are far more trustworthy with guns than many adults. I was once such a kid myself. People who either fear guns, but handle them anyways without supervision, or don't respect them are the ones who end up with accidental discharges. You shouldn't fear the gun you hold, but you definitely need to respect it, which includes knowing how to handle it properly. That is why I can't stand jerks who give a (usually powerful) gun to a beginner and let them hold it improperly so that it ends up recoiling into their face. People like that are a skid mark on the underwear of the gun community.
