This video is like 5 months old. I don't feel like going back that far to argue over something I really no longer give a shit about. There has been one update since then, so I was probably right back then. I don't know.

FYI. If you’re doing a firmware update for Spark it won’t work if your cables are plugged into a hub. I made this mistake after several attempts with 3 different Spark amps recently. After reading their instructions it’s recommended to have your cables plugged in directly to your computer. When I did this the updates were quick without errors.

I have a Boss Katana Air Ex, and it sucks to connect to the APP. Sometimes, it takes 15 minutes to fiddle with it to make the connection. It is awful, and I am not the only one plagued by it. Besides that, it is an excellent AMP.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 12 сағат бұрын
Did I mention that in this video? I honestly don't remember, but I remember mentioning it in another video. That thing had me frustrated. If it wasn't for that (and the $700 price tag), I would have loved the Air Ex.

Does it distort if played at higher volumes? I used a regular power bank and my spark 40 distorts at high volumes.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 17 сағат бұрын
No, it doesn't. If the voltage on your power bank is lower than 19v, the amp may be struggling to operate and it may cause overheating, so be carefull.

I bought a katana to be my catch all for practice recording ang gigging. though recording with a IR loader I find myself tweaking the settings more often than I like. I always just attributed it to being bad with the software.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore Күн бұрын
Well, the amp is already voiced with an amp "model" and when recording, it already also has a cab simulator, so sometimes those things clash. You'll notice on other boss products like the IR-2 and the ME-90, they have options for changing the output to work better with the Katana and other amps.

After living with a katana for about two years, I feel like it’s a great bedroom amp. Way more power than I’ll ever need in the bedroom, but it sounds the same no matter what the volume is so there’s that. The problem is that in a live setting I don’t have the flexibility and on the fly capability of sculpting tone, switching between or combining modulation effects that I do with an analog set up.

Hi Scott, I’m trying to hook up an Fs-7 into the back of the amp where it says tip and sleeve. I want it to kick on the solo and also the other one switch to do Wah. I change channel one and two and A/B to solo and wah, and even saved the preset. It seems that when I hit the foot switch to kick the solo on it switches to channel one and the other switch switches the A/B mode. I can’t figure it out. I have an expression pedal and I want a foot switch to turn on and off the wall for the panel and the other switch to turn solo off and on. Where can I find out how to do that? Thank you so much.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 10 күн бұрын
I'm not familiar with the FS-7 and I'm not sure what you can do about the wah on/off, but you can go into Tone Studio under the assign button all the way to the right and change the settings under foot control. You have three choices under both tip and sleeve, channel 1/2, solo on/off and bank a/b.

So I am looking for bugdet amp for bedroom playing. Can't decide if I should go with the 50w or 100w. I will probably be using it on 0.5w (with lots of gain and distortion) so not sure if there will be any sound difference. I understand there are a lot of features in the 100w.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 11 күн бұрын
Do you think you'll ever use it to play out? .5 in the bedroom is more than enough power and the difference in sound is nominal. As a practice amp, the best thing about the 100 ia having the GA-FC option, but you can also get that with the 50 EX. For what I do, I could use the 50 all day, but I'm one of those people that always wants to have the options, even if I don't use them, but think someday I might actually need them.
@Pecata_Gaming92
@Pecata_Gaming92 11 күн бұрын
Probably will stick to casual bedroom playing, last time I checked the prices, seems its like more worth to get the 100w over the 50 ex. If I go with 100w will I be OK with the 0.5 as I don't want my neighbours to hear me and not a fan of headphones.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 11 күн бұрын
@@Pecata_Gaming92 I hear ya. Now with a ;ot of amps, the headphone output doesn't sound very good, but with the Katana it has a cabinet sim, so it sounds great.

That's really good to know thank you, but if I want to jam around on the 0.5w w/o the headphones on the 100W, on low volumes it should be fine right not sure how much db is that, sadly where I live there isn't any vendor with that model so I can't test it out live thus me asking here? And one last question is worth going for the gen 3 100w or stick to the mkii 100w one, heard that u can't use the Sneaky Amps on it? Thank you for taking the time to reply back appreacite it!
