America's new F15-EX It is actually an obsolete platform for the following reasons: First.- It is only for aesthetic ego, the use of two absurd and enormous tail rudders that offer resistance to flying advance, high radar signal and unnecessary weight. A robust tail rudder like that of the F-4 Phantom is sufficient and cuts through the air better. Second.- It does not have steerable nozzles, which reduces maneuverability in aerial combat. Third.- It does not have cannard wings. Fourth.- When you run out of missiles, you need two cannons with a large ammunition capacity for attack/defense.

Also, as times changed, end of cold war, there was no use for that platform, leading to early cancelation and limited frames build. if the cold war was extended a couple of years, no doubt the F22 would have replaced the fleet !

Different aircraft, different roles. 15EX is a god damn beast in the skies, super dominant in air to air combat. But good thing we also have the F35! Bc with the amazing advanced capabilities of the F35, it will provide the F15EX real time data, suppress enemy defenses, etc. so comparing any American aircraft to each other is pointless since they all work together to form a literal nearly invincible squadron and carry out missions with efficiency, precision, and dominance.
