You should also try chronos bass. It's a free 6str bass vst for kontakt, it got a huge range and really raw sound.

Dude, that ML Drums room only snare doesn't sound like this at all when I try it. What am I missing? I just dial the mix fader of the snare down and the result is way off. Is the post processing that gives this huge room sound?

Personally for my mixes, I fuse the restrains kit from panda sound with the mt kit. The restrains kit got really fat kick, a splash and you can also boost the room on the snare to sound like a snare room. For the bass, I suggest hardy bass by oomind studio. Solid free bass vst fr.

What do you use to make the guitar sound in the first place? Is it a stock guitar that comes with the DAW you use, or is it a VST or a sound-font?

When I used to use free bass plug-ins and pitch proof, I would do -12 semitones, but do like 70 percent wet because you still have the clarity of the original notes while getting that beefiness you want from the bass. As well as you still have most of the full sustain

This is so impressive. I'm going to be honest, I know what a compressor does and the theory behind it, but as to how to use it in practice? Way over my head.
@Wtsmyageagain4 ай бұрын
Thank you. Will echo what others have said in that this is exactly what I've been looking for in terms of editing tracks and what to look out for. There's tons of tone & EQ videos but this part gets neglected or creators assume you should know this.

which algorithm did you use? although i do very little editing like talking ms the overall sound is altered i guess due to the stretching algorithm applied across the entire event even when not stretching anything. this creeps me out
@grimzee4 ай бұрын
Hey Russ ill usually set my warping algorithm to "Elastique - Time" i find that yields the least amount of artifacts. A lot of the artifacts introduced by this method are hidden once the DI is run through the amp sim
@russelw.62884 ай бұрын
@@grimzee It‘s weird! Elatique time introduces a very soft sound overall to the wav even when not changing huge parts of the file. Guitar is in drop G. Best Results where Standard - Solo for me. All results where Tested while beeing fed through Neural dsp Nolly. Very strange. On vocals i went Elastique Time and never had issues. :)

Wait I'm confused at 3:10. You only overhead mics and ride mics for the cymbals in ML Drums, don't you basically have 2 overhead mic output tracks? One for the purpose of having a cymbals track, and one for being an overhead mic track?
