I hate that in Greek mythology there's no really a trustworthy woman that other women can lean on when needed. Aside from Artemis, Nemesis, Ceres and Hestia, sadly they aren't very active. Like, even the goddesses of women and feminity aren't sororal.

Logical person: So let me get this straight. You cursed a woman whom your crush had a crush on. Circe: Yes Logical: Let me rephrase that. That woman you cursed... Showed no interest to your crush, and your crush showed up to your door begging for help on making her love him. Circe: Uh huh... Logical: .... Why would you curse a woman who said no to him? She doesn't have ANY interest to him! Circe: BECAUSE HE LOVES HER AND I LOVE HIM. Logical: SO YOU CURSED HER FOR EXISTING?!

I was wondering if I could ask you a question one of my kids would like to make an animatic for epic as well but we don’t know how to use the music without getting a copyright claim. @@RC-xl8se Circe, while a sorceress is divine. Her father was Helios and her mother was the nymph Perse. It’s why in Done For Odysseus sings “I must be a god like you”, she’s not an Olympian, but much like other gods not Olympian she is still very much of the lineage.

Hi everyone! I wasn't expecting all these kind comments, it's really heartwarming, thank you all for your support!! To clarify on Scylla's story (since there are a few versions and the animatic itself might be confusing), the guy pestering Scylla is actually Glaucos, a god who was once a fisherman. After she rejected him, he went to Circe for help, who became angry with Scylla because of her own love for Glaucos. And that's how it went! Poor Scylla, really. Again, thanks for all the love on this <3

@PuccaLover15Ай бұрын
So Circe punished Scylla just because the guy she liked didn’t return the feeling? And instead of punishing the guy who probably asked her to make some kind of potion to make Scylla fall in love with him against her will no doubt, Circe punished this innocent person, who was Poseidon’s daughter (right? I know he had some kind of close relationship with her, which is why he never sees her anymore, but I can’t remember what the relationship was) by turning her into a bloodthirsty monster? That is so mean! What the heck, Circe! If he comes to you asking to make this other girl fall in love with him, that’s a red flag!

I will say, the primary (and to my knowledge only) source for this story is Ovid, who has a pattern of... embellishing certain details due to his vehement hatred of authority (such as why he made Athena into a petty bitch in the story of Arachne). That doesn't mean stories where Circe turned Scylla into a monster never existed before he made it up, just that he might not be a good source for whatever the closest equivalent of canon Greek mythology had when people took it seriously as beliefs. That said, I do not say this to discourage you for making this. It's incredible and shows you have both talent and creativity to back it up and make something awesome out of this little channel. Please do continue, I will happily be watching and cheering you on.

There are just... No words I can say at this moment but just say how much I ADORE THIS ANIMATION!!! I didn't know the story, but I know with Greek Mythology, it had to be some sort of tragedy.. I also just love how at the beginning, it's Scylla behind the stone, and as she swims, it transitions to Poseidon (Or Glaucus? Unsure..), as we get a flashback to Scylla before she became the way that she is now.

For anyone who doesn’t know the tale of Scylla’s origin, I’ll explain it. Or, well, explain the one portrayed in this amazing animatic, for there are many! So I am assuming this is the origin that is being portrayed…Scylla was once an absolutely gorgeous nymph, so beautiful that she caught the attention of Poseidon. Poseidon claimed her, but this created jealousy from the other water nymphs. Poseidon’s wife, Amphritite-pardon my most likely misspelling-was enraged at this affair and poisoned the spring water from which Scylla drank out of. This poison transformed her into the creature we now know her to be. Insert bow, there you go my fellow mythology disciples, may you take this insignificant knowledge and create significance for it, such as this wonderful creator has done! Good job on the animatic, it is quite lovely!
