The changes you're talking about at the 42 minute mark WILL change things in the finished garment because fabrics have grainlines and often prints on them - how you lay out the pattern determines how a piece is cut with respect to the grainline, which changes the drape and behavior of the fabric.

This video was extremely helpful, thanks for making it! I'm so thankful you explain the "why" of all these pattern elements. My mind was blown when you showed the purpose of the bodice front dart is to essentially make a cone around the apex. No other video I've seen explains that, not even non-digital patternmaking videos. Making clothes for 3d models is exciting on its own, but I think Clo3d is also a great tool to help me learn how to make clothes in real life. Thanks again!

48:30 OMG I tried making a shirt like that following Flipped Normals' tutorial on it and tried to fit it to a female mannequin, I had pointy edges and it got me so frustrated. *GENUINLY THANK YOU*

It's interesting that you never really explain tools and only focus on how it should look in the end Too many tutorials spend too much time on tools when I already know the tools I just wanna learn what to do with the tools

Hello Daniel, Great tutorial, I was wondering if there was a way to import a real 3D scanned hand and create a standard glove that can adapt to other 3D scanned hands that I import into the project without having to redo the work every time. Also I was wondering if there was a physically accurate way of simulating the sewing that when you cut out the material in real life it will fit to the hand.

i just wanted to join the chorus of praise to say this is absolutely one of the best possible entries to the world of not only Clo3D, but the critical fundamentals of pattern drafting, as well. 2 hours is a long time to sit down and watch what is essentially a lecture on making clothes, but i find myself watching this repeatedly, and discovering new nuances as i grow my understanding during my own practice. more than once i've found myself curving a side seam while whispering, "it's just a dart... they're all just darts..." in wonderment. all this to say, creators like you are what keep the University of KZbin™alive and well.
