No issues with assembly for me kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".

How’s the pro fm vs the f1000?
@demonikelectronik10 ай бұрын
missed this question, soorry! PFM vs F1000 uum, comparable. The PFM is faster in a straight line but is slightly heavier, fuel hungry, and very expensive to repair if damaged (especially the carbon tub). The f1000s tend to be really good but engine and gear box reliability isn't always great (bike motor pushing a car). Unless it's a Stohr spare parts tend to be hit and miss, and if it's a one off F1000 spec car then expect to be making things eventually. You can still pretty much buy anything you want for a PFM. Price wise they're about the same. Performance wise, on a tight track like Blackhawk Farms the f1000 and PFM will have nearly identical lap times, on RA where the PFM can stretch it's legs a little, the horsepower gives it a slight advantage.

Beauty. I had a black '82 P-Type nearly 25 years ago... Been mulling on the idea of picking up another to "relive" my youth, so-to-speak,, Quite surprising to see these things going for $15K or more nowadays, mind you those are fairly clean examples.

The price of '80s Japanese cars is absolutely astronomical right now. This car, which was fairly rust free and ran well was purchased for $1000 when this video was made.

How did you wire the switches on those new handlebars and fit them correctly? The switches on my cb350 don't have a hole in the housing to allow the wires out, they only work with the original handlebars which has holes drilled into it to allow the wires through, so how did you do it here?
@demonikelectronik10 ай бұрын
sorry for late response but if it still matters to you, I actually drilled the new bars and routed the wires through. It was a huge pain in the ass lol. Best way I found was run a small piece of steel cable, like brake or clutch line through the bars and get it past the bend in the clubmans. Then tape each wire on one by one to the cable and guide it through. The cable end never goes in the bar you simply pull wire through, then slide cable back and tape another one on and repeat until all wires are through the bars.

It looks like you were fighting understeer most of the race. I hated that about the Mazdas that I drive in 95-98. I prefer an oversteering car on the limit the and these people understeer if you pushed them. They have good speed in the straight but they fall over themselves in the corners.

So is this a CB with CL pipes, or a CL with a CB tank? If it is the latter, how did you get the tank to fit, or is the frame on both the CL and CB the same?
@demonikelectronik4 жыл бұрын
The frames are the same. This is a cb with cl pipes like the movie bikes. The metal fork guards is the other difference between cl/cb.
@TheAnimator18084 жыл бұрын
@@demonikelectronik Thank you for replying, that was the one part of the equation I hadn't figured out yet. Yeah that's right the fork guards are different on the CL, I think it actually came with rubber gaiters. What year of CB is this bike? What did you do for oil cooling? i have a full blown cooler mounted under the passenger headlight, with the foglight cover open to allow airflow. Big hole in the fender liner to allow hot air exit too. Still, I saw oil temps hit 240+ on straight-heavy tracks. Road america has more long straights than most tracks in the midwest. Any insight for oil cooling?
@demonikelectronik5 жыл бұрын
Havent had this car for quite some time now but I had the forrester water/oil puck cooler and a custom air/oil cooler mounted in the nose. 240 is nothing to worry about. This car saw 280+ often. Just put fresh oil in and then change it after a track day.

The stock vacuum fuel pump has a hard time keeping up with the engine. If you idle around or run low rpm then try to hammer it, it can't supply enough fuel. Later in the video after running at higher throttle then opening it up you can hear the difference. Still haven't found a good solution for it besides wiring in an electric pump, which mean I'd need a rectifier and voltage regulator and a small battery.
