How did you do that middle selection at @38:00? Are there any other type of selection features like that we should know about? Thank you.
@engiflight8 ай бұрын
This selection process is using the smart select option. This allows you to select center, midpoint, etc. on curves. Definitely reach out to the SDA Software team if you have more questions.

Hi, Thanks for great Video! To use python interface with femap as explained above, one should open femap GUI first to see the connection (if I am right!). How one can simply run femap GUI from python? Thanks

Hey! This is an absolutely amazing simulation! Would there be any way to get codes or project for it, to change structure and variables for a project on flutter I'm working on.

Great video. What I would love to see is a video of complete part. What I mean is that in this demo you have two core ply's but you never covered it with "overcore" ply's and what goes into doing it. Also it would be great if you could show generating 3D solids out of finished part that could be evaluated in the assembly (wherever this parts is intended to be used). Another important thing would be to demonstrate how fibersim data could be exported to FEA packages - part with resultant (result of manufacturability simulations) ply's, fiber orientations, etc. That would give the full picture of fibersim being used in composite design and manufacturing.

why did he multipl mass by acceleration? that gives newtons! (or whatever american version that would be) shouldnt mass just be the lbs?
@jasonb5670 Жыл бұрын
It should have been divided. Pound is force. Slug is mass. Lb/32.17 = 1 slug Lb/386.04 = 1 slinch Much like 9.81 N = 1 Kg 386.04 is 32.17*12 (ft to inch). 1lb force is 0.00259 slinches (mass). Then you can take slinch times acceleration (386.04 at 1g) to get lb force. 2g would be * 772.08 In Femap you can use lb "mass" also as long as the acceleration you apply are in terms of "g". Like 2g (2) or 3g (3).

If the purpose of fillets is to reduce stress concentration, why is FEMAP designed to analyze without these fillets? Wouldn't that give high stresses at midplane intersection joints?

Hi,there. What confuses me is how to link the webs with the spar. Since I only have the outer shape of the wind blade, all layers must be stacked inward. And that makes the t-linking look weird. The shell element totally immersed the first row of web elements. Does that work?

Thank you for a good introduction webinar :) Yet I believe that it can be improved: unfortunately there are small topics left untouched and uncovered - like really basic 3D-CAD operations (just few minutes on defeaturing and automated flow volume extraction would be enough), getting a bit deeper to the concept of Parts (Surfaces) -> Regions (Boundaries) workflow, meshing of a simple geometry (maybe with 1 surface control for refinement), monitoring quantites and running the solver, post-processing just as couple of scenes.
