too complicated demo. I can't understand what's Yester Versio contributing and what's the results of some other modules

WTF is going on here? Jam Jam is clearly throwing something off kilter, it's just hard to figure out what. Batty as hell. I'm sitting here doing kick drums in my head trying to place it.

Yes, the kicks in that part of the video are all from BIA.

Yey! That's great to hear that you're swapping the firmware and trying out new sounds. Both Basmilus and Manis are powerful and gritty sound sources.

So excited you've brought this back 🖤 I'm still curious how the accents work... I guess the different modes doing like logic operations on the incoming triggers to get the accent output?
@NoiseEngineering11 күн бұрын
Technically...the accent patterns are defined by the Accent switch with has 3 settings: To the left, a channel’s Accent goes high if it outputs a trigger, and the next channel wouldn’t output a trigger simultaneously, regardless of its mute position. In the Middle, Accents are high when both inputs receive a trigger simultaneously. To the right, Accents are high if a channel outputs a trigger and the next channel would also output a trigger simultaneously, regardless of its mute position.

It's like you had a great idea and then overcooked it with all that extra weird crap to inflate the price or whatever.
@NoiseEngineering11 күн бұрын
We added 4 outputs because we found the accent outs really useful and a pot for performability. There is no intention here to inflate the price, but if you feel this module isn't for you, that's okay!

First when I saw this I thought this would be finally a module that is taking the idea from the octatrack scene crossfader. Does anyone knows if a module like that even exist?
@mech_mush11 күн бұрын
Octatrack and modular synths are a deadly combination. From generating midi to looping and resampling to playable multifx, it does so much. I can't image what the price tag of a comparable modular setup would look like

Catalyst Controller
@izntrik11 күн бұрын
What feature from the Octatrack do you like that Confundo doesn’t have? I’m curious because I’m developing a matrix switch sequencer that allows you to program a sequence of input CVs to outputs. 10 inputs, 10 outputs, and 10 sequencers each with an A and B pattern to fade between.
@mikegeary80569 күн бұрын
The Catalyst was designed to meet this need. 4ms now makes it. It’s a dual function module it can also be a sequencer which is how it’s usually promoted.

I've been looking out for a used copy of the original in the local market for a few years now. Haven't seen it even once. So happy to see this come out. Now put out the video showing us what the new features can do! I'll be ordering Zularic Repetitor (unless you hint that an update is in the works?) and BI Alia, to join my drum case. I was lucky enough to score Integra Solum recently, this will be my next NE addition from there.

Does the dry wet mix also impact whether or not the lp/hp/bp filter is impacting the sound or does it only interact with the saturation and other effects aspects of the module?
@NoiseEngineering18 күн бұрын
The blend control mixes between the unprocessed and filtered/saturated signals.

And how are we supposed to flash the daisy offline?! It might sound strange to some, but there are situations when people don't have access to the internet (weird thought, I know). I can't believe that we only own our own devices fully, when we're on-the-line. Please, Noise Engineering, overthink this issue!

It would be really nice to have an offline downloadable version of the web portal so it can be configured from a laptop without access to the internet! This is almost a make or break option for me.

It's working for me. You can also try noiseengineering.us/portal/univer-inter/ if the portal is blocked for you.

@@NoiseEngineering Thanks for replying! I can reach the portal but this would be my first module that I can't configure locally (?). I am still thinking of pulling the trigger on getting it, but that reliance on an external internet entity for config is new to me. Could I clone the page and run it locally? Not sure what is required under the hood...

Gonna have to try this one out for sure - phase modulation has so much potential! I often kick myself for ever letting go of my old CZ-101, so many great sounds in such a compact footprint. This may well scratch that itch!
@gamma_noize29 күн бұрын
But the CZ synths used Phase Distortion and not Phase Modulation as far as i‘m aware. Phase Modulation is kind of similar to FM. Even „the“ FM synth, the DX7, technically uses Phase Modulation instead of „real“ FM. ^^
