Would it be any benefit to buy an extra cover and drill holes all in it but leave it on to keep some of the air away from the back window? Also, if all the intake is now coming from under / sides, is it just sucking, massive dust into the radiator and would cause a different problem ?
@MassiveOverkill
@MassiveOverkill Күн бұрын
You can do that. My next mod will hopefully eliminate all dust coming in through the radiator intake, which happens if it's not blocked off. Stay tuned.

Where do you drill the hole for the wires using this template?

Just to the left of the plastic ring molding. You can temporarily position the turn stalk into place and see where you need to drill a hole. The hole will be elongated in the horizontal plane.

I've been thinking about adding some aux head lights to the front of my YXZ. I'm not sure which aux lights to get on Amazon and I know you have a link to them somewhere. However, after watching your video on the improved hi-low beam headlight change out, do the aux headlights do much after that with the up graded hi-low beams? THANKS for the great videos you have produced!

@@MassiveOverkillI’m still pondering why you got rid of it. Was something wrong with it? I go through machines too often because there’s always something that annoys me about it, that there is no cure for. My wife says I’m never content. Whatever… The yxz would be in my possession already if there was a better option for enclosures, instead of the zipping and unzipping to get in/out of the machine. I’m not expecting a different set of hard doors and roll down windows, as that would be so heavy and expensive, but something that if you open the door, the window also opens. I’m gonna have to have my buddy from PA fabricate something for the YXZ like his gulwing style windows on his Honda talon.🤷🏻
@MassiveOverkill
@MassiveOverkill 11 күн бұрын
Nothing wrong with it at all other than the 6K miles I put on it. Not that it won't go another 14K miles but I put at least 4K miles on my SxS per year and I've come to the realization that I either trade them in every year to minimize market value loss or run them in to the ground. I'm fine with the latter, but with Yamaha doing unforseen refreshes like they did to the RMAX, are they going to do the same to the YXZ? I probably won't put 6K miles on this 2025 so if Yamaha decides to put the new AP 2.0 and turf mode on the 2026's I can unload my 2025 for not too much of a hit. I need to have the latest and greatest. I was fine with my 2021 RMAX4 LE for 3 years because there were no major upgrades. A 2025 RMAX was in the running to be my new SxS instead of the 25 YXZ. This is just how things turned out because of timing.

Merry Christmas. If anyone would know, it would be you sir. But do you know if there are any decent enclosures for the yxz? I am 99% sure my next SxS will be a 2024/25 Yxz, my previous was a Ranger xp 1000 northstar and before that a Rmax 4seater base and before that a Polaris Rzr 1000 trail ,but now I want a sportier machine. I wanted to make sure the only enclosures available weren’t the soft zipper type, like a purchased for my Rmax, which I hated. The ranger had roll up windows which was great. But something like I see in your other videos with the fold up/down gulwing type that you have on the Rmax would be decent also. I love your videos my man ! Also, do you still enjoy the Yxz? Thanks and happy holidays to you and the fam.

As of now no one makes a mass-produced non-zippered solution. I'm urging UORP to make framed uppers for the YXZ but can't comment whether they'll come to fruition or not. I have an interim solution that I just put together yesterday that most anyone that can use scissors can do. Merry Christmas to you and thanks for the support. It's a tough battle trying to win over the YXZ crowd it's not the same culture as the RMAX crowd so your comments mean a lot! I L O V E the YXZ!! If they're egging out, then your idea about the stall speed would change according to the oil, and amount of wear on them..Definitely wouldn't be consistent.

Forgot to shift down to low, but that's mostly because the majority of the time one never needs to do so. You're not going to burn a belt in a Yamaha going in high like the 'competition'. The long wheelbase RMAX 4 also has 16 gram clutch weights so it stays in a lower CVT ratio longer.

@MassiveOverkill I'm trying to get the 2025 compact. The only thing around here is the 2 seat and 4 seater. It seems you have driven both. Do they both have the same weights? I thought I heard that the compact has 20g weights. I'm also kinda torn between the xtr and limited compact. I believe the setup are the same other than the backup camera, shocks, and gage cluster. I hear the backup camera is plug and play. That is really the only thing I want on the xtr. Do you belive it is worth getting the limited over xtr. If those are indeed the only difference?
@MassiveOverkill
@MassiveOverkill Ай бұрын
I have not driven any of the 2025 RMAX2's yet but the RMAX2/RMAX4 Compact both have the same clutch weights as previous years (18/20 if memory serves me) while the RMAX4 Long uses 16 gram weights. You are correct: backup cam, in-cab iQS, main gauge, but Limited also gets you EPS switch and rear speakers whereas XTR only gets front speakers but does get beadlock rims. Believe it or not, I've always been a Limited guy, but the suspension is so nice on all the RMAXes that I feel manually adjusting the shocks per venue vs per micro-situation will be enough for me. I don't set EPS to higher than before because I LOVE Yamaha's default EPS mode. For 2025 I will be getting an XTR trim. The square beadlock rims setup is important as there's no need to buy new rims, which I always had to do if I went Limited. That $500 could go for the backup camera and I feel the front MTX speakers are sufficient since if I have 4 passengers, they may not like my taste in music. I hope this helps.
