It is another interesting looking 2 player game. And sumo is two player trick taker that has some interesting twists on the genre, KAY!

Agree. Best thing in Arcs is having a huge round. When you pull it off or even when someone else pulls off something crazy for big points.

Chronicles- I loved the ease of play, but victory was near impossible. Between the journey, map, boss, and chit bag it was nearly impossible to win the battles. I definitely lost 60 to 70 percent of the fights. Even if I made mistakes with rules in my favor or stacked my deck past the token allowance, I still got my butt kicked. If I didn't get a good starting hand in Delve, I felt like if I played well I stood a chance at winning. There isn't enough in Chronicles to overcome bad luck.

I know Jeff loves trick taking games. What did you guys think of the Tidal Blade's Banner Festival trick taking game?

Nice lists but I think someone has changed the year for Maple Valley on BGG because we definitely played it in 2023. Love me some Draft & Write Records and Harmonies. Fromage is one of 3 games I need to get to the table before I do my top 10 list.

Jamie, just giving an opinion, i know you are working on the lighting. the lighting above you head in the corner of the room (i assume) is a little harsh. it doesn't even out the wall as it does on jeff's side. also, just got Civolution in the mail today. very excited to read the rules and try it out. great list of games. i agree with Draft & Write. that was one of my "most fun" games to play this year. I happened upon Fromage from a friend, and as soon as I saw the theme and the mechanics, I backed it on Kickstarter. I haven't played it yet, but I look forward to it even more now! Thanks for the list!

My 2cents with that Arcs campaign, you can do it in a single sitting, but there is so much to digest that the game heavily benefits from using the storage solution and playing it over 3 different sessions. I'm only 3 campaigns in with different groups, but it gets Arcs-ier than base game in many ways. IE there are more cards and board positions that don't get you towards what the objectives that emerge from the game shapeshifting over it's 3 acts. So you're fighting against a ferocious rules overhead + what I deem is "Low morale" gameplay. IE no move looks good, but you still search for one. It's pretty neat when you give yourself that breather between acts.

First baby!! I'm expected to receive Fishing in a few days. I had never heard of the game until I watched a playthrough from Game Night. It seems very interesting how you want to win tricks in order to score more points but also want to be able to get upgraded cards by not winning tricks.

The other 2 walls may not be on camera, but that's what you guys will be looking at all the time and I suspect it will bug you after a very short time. Love the moveable tracks for the cameras. That will be wonderful for everything you want to do in the room.

Just verifying rules as I watch the play through. 10:52 and 11:19 On your first turn you could have maneuvered and landed after flicking your ships via a maneuver. As per the rules: Maneuver A Move action allows you to perform any number of Maneuvers before or after the flick, not restricted to the flicked Starship. Some Technologies provide new Maneuvers. 18:22 and 20:45 don’t forget to take the VP point for winning after resolving the attack. You caught it at 22:13. Don’t forget “minimum of 1 VP. “After resolving an Attack, gain VP equivalent to the target’s Defense (minimum 1 VP).” 49:40 Don’t forget the 5 VP tokens used only for end of game scoring.

Very nice, think you should have won though, when you're down to one heart (killer too), you get an adrenaline boost and get to roll an extra die (two extra dice if both of you are at 1). Think that would have given you the edge to win over him but still, pretty good. I've played him and his scenario about 6 times and beat him twice. Main strategy I use is go fetch a weapon if I can get one, than run him down and do as much damage as possible as quickly as possible. Both times I won, the final act hadn't even started yet. Best way I've come up with.
