thank you for creating these cards, i have been doing readings for over 40 years and this deck is the best i have ever used - i found out about them from a youtube review and right away bought some from amazon - the artwork and the book are wonderful - i do a reading a bit different from what i see others do, 3 cards 1 at a time - first tells me the topic/subject of the reading, the second is a modifier to tell how the person is being affected by the first, the third is a resolution card to tell what to do - my readings tend to be more about helping people with current situations rather than "divination" or to help people learn something about themselves to improve their life and the yggdrasil deck with extra cards and well thought description for each make their use really easy - THANK YOU

thank you for the video, i just bought the yggdrasil cards 2 days ago and love them, very beautiful artwork - i am just starting to learn of my ancestral past, my ancestors immigrated too USA from 1500's to 1600's and some still live in swedish settlements speaking "old" swedish - found out about the cards from a youtube video review while i was researching nordic history - i learnrd a few things here and really look forward to using the cards - i been doing tarot for over 40 years and this is my favorite deck - thank you so much

If you have cards that "jump out" durning the shuffle how should you place them/read them or just put them back in the deck. Asking because I just recently got the deck and tried the yggdrasil spread and had a few "jump out" and I just placed them back in the deck and continued to shuffle them. Want to make sure I'm doing it right. They're my 1st deck and still fairly new to the tarot/divination/Oracle cards.

While in Iceland I remember first seeing Haukur's work on the wall at Cafe Loki, then soon after in spades at the Viking Hotel. And I totally want go back to blót at the Arctic Henge when it's done. This man is a national treasure. Also, I've always wondered if there are statuettes of his larger scale sculptures still available, particularly the Odin with Draupnir beard, and if his Trolls book will ever be reprinted. norseplay. blogspot .com

Thanks for the video it was so helpful! Only one question: the order for the placement you did for the last 4 cards is different from the one that comes written in the book with the deck where you're supposed to finish with Muspellsheimur... I am new to this so I wonder if either will work or one is better than the other.

Hello from Russia! Congratulations on releasing such a beautiful deck. I respect the Nordic tradition and I love this deck. She is beautiful! But I have a question for you about Norn. Norna Urd is the past, but your book describes it as real. Verdandi is the present, and in the book she is the future. Skuld is also a probable future, but you imagine it as the past. Is this a mistake and confusion? If not, what were you guided by for such a description. Please comment on this issue, as it is of interest to many who bought your deck.
@yggdrasilnordicartandmytho3416
@yggdrasilnordicartandmytho3416 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question about the three Norns and I'm happy to address that. We do get questions about that quite a bit, and I try to answer them where ever I can. The conventional interpretation differs from how we interpret each Norn. The original texts of the Eddas do not allocate each Norn a meaning, just that the three of them hold the threads of the past, present and future. The general consensus for each one for that is something that has come later and is based in language. In our understanding, and how it is in the deck Verðandi holds and weaves the threads of the future, her name means in Icelandic; "becoming". Skuld, the past, because the word means a "debt" owed from the past. Urður holds the threads that are come into existence, "has become", in the present time. This interpretation comes naturally for us. We are aware this is not the general consensus, it is our interpretation. Traditionally Uður personifies the past, which also makes sense Verðandi the present and Skuld the future. This is based in old Norse interpretations. We don't say what is correct or not correct. It's open for interpretations. I hope that answers your question

@@yggdrasilnordicartandmytho3416 Thank you! I see that the Vanaheim world is not in the deck, but there is the Dverg world. This seems to me very logical for the alignment. I am delighted with your work. Congratulations! This is a wonderful oracle. I study it and fall in love over and over again!

If you can, try to get the witches almanac, you would like it! It has many different short stories from all around the world. It's beautiful, I love it and when I pick one of my books up (they have been published since the 70s, the original author has sadly passed but it was continued by her right hand, so there has been no change to the structure of it really), some of the older ones are worth a lot of money now. But the new ones arent expensive. They just came out with an anniversary edition that has some of the articles from every year since it has been published. It's really, really interesting. And funny because they left the original ads that they also had in, from the 70s. Times sure have changed. And how much things cost! Anyway. I think you would really enjoy these. The articles are short, between maybe 1-5 pages or so, it's easy to read a bit and put down if you don't have much time.

I love this deck. Thank you. I'm a german stuck in the us and I miss home so much (hope to go home next year finally!) These cards are very special to me. Absolut fabelhaft gelungen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I’m so pleased to find this video. My husband surprised me with this deck today- I think he thought it was a Tarot deck because I do have quite a few of those. However when I started reading the book I found the concept fascinating. I’ve always been interested in learning different mythologies and I’m familiar with a little bit of Norse mythology and I think this deck will be a great way to learn more. Thank you so much for the beautiful art and concept!! One question I do hope you will go over... or not really a question so much as a plea. Can you do a video that just has the pronunciation of each world, and each card within each world? I’m sabotaging these names. I look forward to seeing more from you all! Stay safe 🙂
