I was told by somebody that attacking from the transition zone also depends on skill level gradient. The example they used is that somebody trying to attack from the T-Zone should be at least equal to or better than the person they are attacking at the kitchen. i.e. A 3.0/3.5 should not try attacking a 4.0 from the transition zone. What are your thoughts on this? Also, what is your opinion of hitting a drip (drive drop hybrid shot that dips) instead of a pure drive from the transition zone?

Thank you very much for this video! I found it extremely helpful. Also, I love your coaching technique. You give opportunities for the viewer to see the different errors potentially made and how to correct them.

Thanks, Tom for the update on Selkirk's paddle research and unvarnished appraisal of current paddle testing standards. Based on past behavior, as long as Connor Pardoe oversees paddle testing standards, the only question is whether they will be, as Tom fears, “nefarious or incompetent.” For Pardoe, integrity is a commodity-available to the highest bidder, whether it concerns paddle standards, ball selection, venues, line calls, or other aspects of the sport. Pardoe seems to embody Jerry Maguire’s infamous mantra: “Show me the money.”

I don't know. I kind of get the sense that Anna Leigh and Jorja aren't really big fans of eachother. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. But that time AL accused Jorja of touching the net and next point she says "ball don't lie". And in MLP in the dreambreaker when AL said on the sidelines that Jorja was "...so f'n lucky". Again, they may be cool and it's just an in competition thing. Just my observation.

Your coaching and how specific in how you describe concepts and technique and strategy is incredible James, thank you! Would you consider a deep dive into grips, and changing grips mid point? I’ve heard some high level players say they do not have time to change grips, and others have various ways of changing grips mid-point. Would you consider unpacking any of this in a future episode?

I think CJ actually played a solid game. From the middle of the 4th into the 5th I think Ben actually made more mistakes. Sure he's no Patrick or Gabe from that right side but he played his role. Anyway today looks like Ben is playing with Tardio next year if you can believe social media reports.

CJ seemed a letdown. Generally, the brothers don't have a good counter to opponent's speed up. Can't imagined they surrendered and lost 2 of 5 games after leading well ahead. No longer invincible. 😂

One of the best matches ever played. Incredible high quality pickleball!
@seattlewind3244 күн бұрын
One of the highest quality matches. I would say now AB and ALW are the cream of the crop, as dependable as CP is, the result of the game depends on the performance of RR. CP’s has reached her peak, ALW’s game is still the best, AB is right behind of her, but RR has shown the most potentials for bigger improvement, which means that she is still on the climbing path. My prediction is that AB/RR combo is going to win more matches in the future. Potentially ALW will cut CP off, and might throw an olive branch to ALW to maintain her most dominating status in pickleball. I suspect that she can handle being a loser, partially due to her age and partially contributing to her personality.

Catherine, I think what you mean in terms of getting your center of mass down is that you want to position yourself like a baseball shortstop, not a catcher. The catcher sits back on his heels to receive the pitch, which is not what you want to do when defending in transition. Otherwise, great content, as usual!

I call this match. "The first domino" match. I hated to see this match happen as I am a HUGE Ben John's fan. For the first time, Ben was pressed and pressed hard. This match showed the Pickleball world, Ben was beatable. We know you eventually lost this match, but the wound inflicted by that one win during this match dealt a long term cancerous wound that eventually would bring about a new era in Pickleball. Regardless of how your career ends, and even though you haven't YET reached the success Ben had, I suspect history will eventually put you down (at minimum) as the Buster Douglas of sorts of Pickleball. I hope to see a more detailed analysis of this match if possible.
