I am now back to review your video on the XR20. I didn't see before, but in this video, you are in Croatia I see. Are you still there? I think you are in Canada, maybe?... LOL none of my business. Don't worry, I am not stalking you. I just like your music and found you because of your XR20. (I'm in Winona Minnesota if you are curious.) If you are Polish, (I think I saw some Polish language on your other videos) I think you might be interested to know there are a lot of Polish people here in my town! In fact, Bytow is our sister city. A lot of people came here from that town.
@nawyku10 ай бұрын
yes, I'm from Poland, but I've been living in the UK for 20 years and I'm im Poland quite often. It's interesting that your city is a twin city with Bytom - my brothers live in this area - Górny Śląsk.

But then I see Brampton in your video description. And that is Canada. (I think) Are you a Polish guy living in Canada? Dude, I'm so confused! LOL

That's fricken awesome! I watched your video from like 5 years ago with the XR20. Do you still have it? I guess the LPD8 came out about the same time. yeah, don't watch any music related stuff on my channel. I'm just a synth enthusiast. No real talent... just like to dabble. Seeing your very precise spot-on tempo, I realize you are on another level. But I just want to know, is this something that is easy for you, and comes naturally, or was it a result of really hard work over the years to accomplish?
@nawyku10 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks a lot! I don't have the XR20 anymore, I sold it, I noticed that the pads are not pressure sensitive, so they are not too good for finger drumming - but for producing beats it is a great machine. Now I use Akai controllers (they still make the best pads in my opinion) and various software. If you have a sense of rhythm and practice (it's normal to practice), it's great fun.
@riquester197110 ай бұрын
@@nawyku You know, the first Akai that I (I mean my parents) ever owned was a reel-to-reel machine from like the 70's. It caught my attention of the Akai name... then years later I see these Akai beat boxes.. and even an 80's synth, the AX80. Anyway, the XR20 is doing a great job as a drum machine for me. Thanks for making that video! ;)
@riquester197110 ай бұрын
Um, how did you do this? I have this same machine. I can't do that lol! I'll maybe answer my own question: There are some humans that are more talented than other humans. ;) And you are one more talented. But I have a really honest question to ask... was making this beat something that just came natural to you, and seemed easy, or did it take a lot of work and practice to do this? I hope you can see this question even after 5 years of posting this. And you are still on KZbin. (I'm off to look at your channel.) You've really inspired me to work harder at discovering the potential of this Akai... thank you.
@nawyku10 ай бұрын
It's easy - you can make your own program in the Akai XR20 ,match the sounds to any pad,save it and then practice it - don't forget to play with metronome

:) Nice..
@GuitarG12310 ай бұрын
Awesome this mate,great groove you got going there. Are the sounds easy enough to load onto the sd card. Thinking of gettin this Akai
@nawyku10 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks! Not that easy to be honest - files can only be 16-bit waves, they can't have a long name, you can't create a folder on an SD card, and samples take a long time to load onto the pads - especially loops - but if you can cope with these limitations - you will like it very much this equipment. And one more thing - if you plan to use it as a MIDI controller, remember that it works with a computer, but only via the USB 2.0 port (unfortunately, it does not work with USB 3.0).

Siema! Pozdro!
@nawyku11 ай бұрын
@GRBuy11 ай бұрын
Rozumiem.
@nawyku11 ай бұрын

Hi I can't make a turtorial because I don't have this equipment anymore. from what I remember, you have to create your own drumkit, where you can assign any sound to any pad and then save it. In general, it's a very good machine for beatmaking, but not very good for finger drumming (the pads are not sensitive).
