Ese dc3 , me parece que es de los que hacían vuelos semanales a Canaima, una experiencia única, volaba casi arriba de los árboles.. increíble.

IMO it is a pity they did not convert these things to turboprops and keep flying them. The _Flying Boxcar_ just looks _cool._

I remember seeing them in Da Nang in '72 and '73. Rear cargo door removed from the aircraft. Painted all black. I believe it had an M-134 sticking out the back end. I also remember they were unusually quiet. They would taxi past our revetments, and you didn't even need hearing protection on...

TurboProps seem to be the engine that the DC3's were waiting for.

That looked like The Flight of the Phoenix al over again. That right engine was a bit fouled up, but what a beauty. Looks l ike Canada, somewhere. The other bird looked like a Convair 240/340. Very nice. Beautiful.

First time I got on an aircraft that the captain wasn't speaking English, I was thinking 🤔 no way this guy can fly😮 no f ing way .😂 takes a while to get used to . Old pilot likely had more hrs on a 727 than any pilot I've flown with 😊

I often ponder … why would someone in their right mind decide … “hmm what kinda aircraft can we afford that runs starts up easier& in extreme cold weather… thin air… that’s cost effective to transport and haul FUEL TO REMOTE PARTS OF ALASKA ?” Literally cost effective and has capacity to haul large loads … mind blowing these businesses are to make most profit outta business … soooo what shall they fly to do such duties and deliveries at the most bang for the owners buck?

I have flown on propeller driven airlinets twice in my life. When I was a kid family flew back to us from Europe instead of ship. Also as a teen from Fresno to San Francisco. Back in the 1960's. I don't remember just what they were DC 6 DC 7 as this was _55 to 59 years ago
