I rmember this battle being one of the most emotionally charged out of all the ps1 trilogy of ff games (right up there next to the fight with Jenova after Aerith dies in 7) and honestly, I can say that this moment here was when Vivi truly earned his fan favourite status that he damn well deserves. Such a fantastic section of a well crafted game, beautifully directed, programmed and scored by all involved. Thank you Squaresoft, for a wonderful story.

great strat. worked first try for me to beat 4000 points, after getting just 2000 before. Using the wind ability to gather enemies for wind ninjutsu, and using art of war / blind side on green cactuars. I set yuffie's crystalline cross to bonus wind damage boost, magic boost, lightning damage boost . For other gear I used enhanced garm bangle, karmic cowl. Pretty standard yuffie load out for most of my battles. Materia used: Enemy skill + HP absorption, chakra, ATB stagger, Darkside, Skill master, AP up + HP up, Steadfast block, First strike, Healing. Summon: Shiva for magic attack boost, better ice damage.

I absolutely could not get this because I wasn't going slow enough, which I think kinda sucks when it feels a lot more fun fast

Regarding the bug that patch 1.02 seems to have caused in the side quest with this game. Apparantly Square-Enix are aware now and working on a fix but there's no update yet when that will be available. In the meantime there is a couple of things that you can try: 1. If you haven't yet installed patch 1.02 then DON'T until you complete this side quest. 2. If you have the physical disc version of the game, delete the installation (but obviously not your saved data). Then disconnect your PS5 from the internet, reinstall the game which should put patch 1.00 on. Then complete the quest and reconnect your PS5 to the internet afterwards and install patch 1.02. 3. If you have the digital version of the game and already installed patch 1.02 then I'm afraid you will just have to wait until Square-Enix release the next patch.
