Stumbled upon this video while I was looking for physics lectures. This is a god video, funny and educational and I am surprised that you didn't get more views. You should have made more of these videos featuring different concepts in Physics.

Billy Ray how were they for farm tractors? I know one guy that has a red one up by me, 18.4x38 duals, and has been repowered with an IH DT466. Neat machine. Probably ok back in the day for a farm tractor, but crude by today's standards. But so is my Versatile D145. I repowered that with an inline Cummins turbo. I'd like to talk to your dad about the MRS tractors.

One of those dories is one my family built (Carlson Enterprises). Brings back memories. I grew up setnetting on Salamatof beach. I hear Bad Penney Bob is lobbying to shut you guys down altogether so he and his doctor and lawyer buddies can catch more kings

First things first: best single part of the video is from 0:37 until 0:39. Second, Micah, why are you such a good spousal abuser? Does this make anyone in particular nervous? Third: Can I be like a roadie when you guys get outrageously famous because of this? omg love you all! Love wins!

Thank you for posting this video! I set net out of Ninilchik and showing people this video is way easier than trying to explain what I do! Fare well this winter, hopefully regs get changed so we can get in the water next year!

Don't see many at all, Mississippi Road Service. A friend of mine had a bigger frame one like this one with a 6V71 in it. He used it for moving houses. Hade a 5th wheel on the back and a dozer blade on the front. When I looked for parts they are far and few between because the military used them over seas and they never came back, and the comp was sold. I know I have seen pics of them in sugar cane fields. There are a couple in Florida also used for pulling boats on trailers out of the water.

We always try to pick out of the skiff as it keeps the fish cleaner, is easier on our backs as the net comes across the skiff at waist height and we don't have to lug the fish up the beach. We only pick "dry" on the beach if the weather is too bad to launch the skiff or if its the end of the fishing period and we have to get the nets out of the water quickly and more fish have been caught in the net since our last on the water pick.

Yep, Its hard to pay bills when you get to fish fewer than 10 days! We moved onto some beach nets in the Kenai district last year and only got to fish 5 days all season! This year (2009) is not much better but it beats sitting behind a desk at the "day" job!

We have major current to contend with here in Cook Inlet and setting "outside" nets via motoring the skiff at speed is the only way to get the net in the water AND reach the other buoy before the end of the nets arrives! Never had a problem with fouling the net/prop. The net hits the water about 5-7' behind the skiff when you're on the "throttle".
