I have a stock P-01 decocker, which was my favorite gun until I got a CZ 75 P-10F, which has a much better trigger, especially with the shorter reset. I really don’t mind the DA pull on the P-01, but the long travel and long reset make it feel sloppy. I could Cajunize it but for the money I could buy a new P-10c for concealed.

The CZ P-10c is exceptional just like the P-10f, and more gun equals more fun!

What was the problem you had with the mag guts? I couldn't figure out
@exxonv1719
@exxonv1719 Ай бұрын
Well, it seemed that after a few mags through, the magguts mags stopped feeding reliably and I was getting light primer strikes. My guess is that there's not much tolerance for grime. The factory mags never exhibited that problem. I took the magguts out and went back to factory springs. Loved the idea of another round, but couldn't get over the reliability concerns.

That load h110 load is very inefficient for 125 and that barrel length. Most of that Powder is leaving the barrel. You can get the same velocities from a 4” using 10 grains of longshot. I stopped using lil gun and h110 for anything under 140 grains or barrel length 4” and under it just burns to slow. You get diminishing returns. Hs6 & longshot are better for these. But for the 158-180 grain bullets that lil gun and h110 can’t be beat.

I've read that the TXG grip module weighs 13.1 ounces all by itself - no internal weight, no extended magwell. The grip weight is 1.6 ounces. Extended magwell is 1.8 ounces

Low left is definitely all grip. I had trouble the same way you do with Glocks when I was learning to shoot. C-clamp grip with trigger hand and stop using pinky pressure. No more low left for me. Seriously try just relaxing your pinky and see how you do. Yeah I know that’s the latest greatest tip is more pinky. For me it makes me shoot way worse. I have 160-170lb grip strength so I’m not sure how much that factors in not needing my pinky to do sub 2 sec bill drills?

@@exxonv1719 Cool! It’s probably a combination of the grip angle and how thick Glocks are. Exacerbates quote unquote poor grip. Please don’t take the last comment the wrong way. Glocks are extremely rewarding when you figure them out. And this is coming from no Glock fanboy. I don’t buy into Glocks are the most reliable handguns ever made. I think they’re middle of the pack at best in my experience f owning a plethora of different brands. I carry a g26 because I perform the best with it and I have the most rounds through one over my other guns. I hope my suggestions end up helping you. It may take some getting used to and take awhile to see results, but for me it improved my shooting for all hand guns. Especially the micros where you can only get two fingers on the grip. Well I don’t use my pinky anyway, so I don’t cry like everyone else about not having a full grip.

No worries, I took it as a suggestion :). I'll give it a "shot" next time I'm out (hopefully soon). I don't have a single favorite handgun myself, and I carried a G26 for years. These days I mostly carry a Sig P365, which I run like a full size :). kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6TLaYetf92Cq6s

Pachmyer Diamond is maybe a bit bigger but is better than the Hogue grip for handling. Also has far more subdued finger grooves compared to the Hogue. I have one on my SP101 an it makes the gun easier to handle and more comfortable to shoot in general.

I've been using the same slide, but on a gen 3. One thing someone told me when I got my first glock, don't mess with the internals. I was really hesitant to change the slide, but it was easier and much more affordablethan having the factory slide milled. I just moved all slide parts over to the new slide and it has worked well.

so you reload with the left hand like I do. good to see someone else doing that. but you should try holding the gun a little higher on the back of the grip. you will lower the bore axes and it will wrap your hand less and you will have better control over it. I have alot of snubbies and absolutely love them. I am mainly a revolver guy.

That last group with the Berry's 147 Grn projectiles seemed insanely accurate compared to what I recall of the other groups! While many of my shooting buddies swear by the 147 Grain projectiles, I always gravitate back to the 124/125 grain projectiles from "The Blue Bullets" , "SNS Casting" or "Ibejiheads" because I'm accustomed to the the recoil impulse/timing in relation to tracking the sights. The "snappiness" of the lighter 124s is preferred to the rolling "push" of the 147s. I found that 135s are kind of a mixed bag dependent upon what powder I've used. Shooting 135 grain Lead Coated bullets under CFE Pistol low spectrum loads reminded me of shooting 124 Grain NATO loads. Something that I've noticed over the years, is that I prefer a lower end of the faster burn rate powders such as WinClean 244, Hodgdon CFE Pistol or Winchester AutoComp with the 124/125 grain Coated lead bullets, while a slightly slower Winchester WSF load is preferable if I'm shooting 135-147 Grain coated lead bullets.

Thanks for the reply, I used this www.hornady.com/reloading/precision-measuring/precision-tools-and-gauges/lock-n-load-bullet-comparator#!/. Then I had to shrink it down a bit more to fit the magazine. That put me at 2.269 per my notes, then I had to go deeper to 2.244 OAL - that was the only way I could get it to fit into MagPul mags. I've tried other mags and mileage may vary as to overall depth.

I had a used one that was older than 10years old. Super ammo sensitive. Just got a new one last week and it’s been firing everything. Doesn’t go into full battery with Hornady Critical Defense but will fire a mag of them once I slam it home. I’d recommend the new ones and stay clear of the older ones.

The quickest fix is to get a CZ. Never trusted cz because glock has always been the standard. Sure the cz is more pricey and you don’t get all the bells and whistles that come with the canik. But in terms of reliability and the gun being able to fire whatever you put in it, cz is the way to go.

Op rod constantly popped out of the track. 7th round stoppage. Tried multiple different oprods. Same results. The danish VAR barrel was really accurate. That was 20 plus years ago. Since I got my Springfield m1, I bought all the tools necessary to check the gas tube, go/no go, micrometer to check the op rod tip and tab on the op rod for the track, muzzle gauge, throat erosion gauge. All those parts have to be in certain tolerances to make that rifle operate correctly. Commercial ammo really binds that oprod and ruins it. If the oprod spring is just a tiny bit out of whack, that will also cause jams. I read a lot of Scott duffs books as well as Clint McKey from Fulton armory and learned the numbers you check for. I keep a small tackle box full of parts, springs for all of it with manuals on how to repair it. Learn what to grease and what to oil. Very very important. If you reload ammo, follow the manual to the “T”. It’s very easy to have one blow up in your face. Had a dumbass buddy make hot loads one day, didn’t listen to me, we went to range, and it happened right next to me. He’s lucky that oprod didn’t take his right eye and cheek off. The “investment cast” receiver CAI used is documented to be out of spec from the original 4 manufacturers. Most competent gunsmiths would say they are wall hangers only but shoot at your own risk. Be careful with it. Trading mine in was the best thing I ever did.

@@pat0343 A lot have complained about the OP rod popping out. I bought a bunch of Drill rifles with the CAI receivers recently. I am going to inspect them one by one. Out of spec ones will go to the welder then to the mill and the channel taken back in. CAI was so close to something good in the 80's when parts kits were everywhere! Remember the junk Blue Sky Garands? LOL no they're collectables!

Installed a Rogers grip on my 22wmr LCRX. Stock would not allow full hammer set and lock in firing position. Used bench grinder to reduce and profile the grip the accommodate the hammer lockup and 1/16in clearance. Removed a wedge of plastic about 1/4 inch on the fat end. Polished up nicely. Grip is a bit slippery, added some Talon rubber grip media to front and back strap areas. No recoil absorption with the hard plastic, but who measuring that for 22wmr.

Two years ago, I purchased a Kahr P380 (California compliant with loaded indicator). .380 ammo is was too expensive so I ordered 500 empty brass from starline brass, 500 100 grn fmj from Midway (clearance sale) RCBS dies and some small rifle primers from my existing stock pile, I couldn't get any small pistol primers because they were all horded up. I used Winchester 231 (about 3 grns) in they worked pretty well. I wished I had a chronograph. I've noticed you got similar hicups on your Kahr too. They seem to function well on hot loads only, even then I'm not sure if I should trust it. I was able to score a beautiful Sig P-238 titanium rainbow unfired new in box on a used gun shelve at my local gun shop. That's unhered of in the state of California but I got lucky. Looking forward for the weather and my health to improve so I can try this baby out.

To get the most from a 357 Magnum round using H110 (W296), I believe it's better to shoot rounds loaded with this powder in longer barrel firearms. My load uses Hornady 125 grain XTP - JHP bullets, Starline Cases, CCI 500 primers and 21.5 grain of H110. When shot from my 4 inch barrel Ruger GP-100 revolver, this round has a average muzzle velocity of 1,438 fps with SD of 21 fps for 6 shots. When shot from my 6 inch barrel GP-100, the average muzzle velocity is 1,612 fps with SD of 16 fps for 6 shots.
