I would like the kernel anti-cheat bull-S to end... the only reason I don't run Linux as my daily OS it's because of those malwares games force you to install :| Oh... and some very specific hardware not being supported (at least when I did try Linux the last time) like my tobii5 eye tracker..... so yes, there is still a very long way for linux... other than that, even if the conversion and compatibility layers to play windows games in linux, most of the games actually perform better, and in general as an OS it's more stable, faster and safer........

Yeah so bro I installed CachyOS to improve frames in The Finals, but I seem to get like 20% less frames than Windows, even with the proprietary drivers. Also feels like it has way more input latency but I have no way to really test that. Definitely much worse framerate than Windows 10 though for whatever reason 🤷♂️ I was doing this on my puny Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti system. Runs the Finals great usually over 80 fps on maxed settings, but I sometimes can't stay over 60 fps on medium settings on Cachy. Weird how our results are opposite. Maybe Cachy is somehow using my RAM less efficiently than Windows was?

For the record, tried it with and without Nvidia low latency, without vsync of freesync. One thing I can't get over is having no GUI to use for tinkering with fan and overclocks. Big L when you work with mid-,tier, last-gen hardware that begs to be overclocked lol

Great Linux gaming video! Do you use CachyOS full-time for gaming or another distro? I currently use Bazzite OS full-time for gaming and live streaming, so just curious on the performance differances

this isnt reliable sadly as it starts to have huuge performance issues that yuzu doesnt seem to have, but yuzu crashes a LOT more consistently

@@boshygamer32 at first i didnt get crashes on yuzu, but like 15 hours in, battles like always crash the game if you keep entering them, it's not always all the time but it's a good chance, it ruins the flow, unless you havent been getting them?

@@froggyman_ First time trying LInux with CachyOS and dang, literally doubled my fps on WIndows from avg. 280fps in WIndows to 440fps CachyOS :)) The mouse input feel quite different in CachyOS compared to WIndows even with acceleration disabled, I will get used to it. I dont see Reflex options tho

Would be great to find out how AMD is getting better perfomance through the translation layer in Linux. With nVidia I've found only a few (older) games performing a bit better in Linux: Days Gone, RDR2 etc

Something is wrong with Bazzite there 3:01 you can see the load on GPU is abnormally low, while CPU is bottlenecking the system.

No! LOL :( Please try steam link. Steam now supports AV1 decoding which actually can fix issues.

Is there a reason why you always show the Max FPS in Linux and the AVG FPS in large in Windows? What I'm trying to say is that you have to be very careful about what you want to show people and most people misinterpret that and think that Linux is much faster here and in many of your other videos, which isn't the case.

@@w4rlxrd I haven't buy shouldn't be a big difference. Also pure arch needs manual tweaks, Cachy has everything ootb,kernel, sched-ext. I think I will test Nobara Vs Cachy.

@@froggyman_ latest standard installation from usb stick. Kernel normal without any changes. I have alle Energy and Sleeping things in kde system deactivated but this doesnt help. With other distros i dont have this issues

I had the same problem, in addition to other incompatibility with the printer and some software. I reported the problem to the KDE team.

No sólo eso, las temperaturas también. Parece increíble hasta que lo vez. 😮 Windows calienta más el equipo. Supongo que hace parte también de las ventajas de tener un desktop con Linux. Para las laptops es otra historia, hay que buscar la manera de instalar herramientas para controlar los relojes de la GPU y controlar el TDP de la CPU para sacarle provecho y que aumente un poco más la esperanza de vida de un portátil (lo cual es mi caso) conservando el rendimiento.
