25:35 .. the developers at Xerox didn’t have any way of getting their lab creations into the larger world of production (mass replicated) either. that would of been the largest shame about initial development. I got to see all kinds of high end development. private small labs in Montréal (1990-95). boutique studios. custom code. w/o a larger ecosystem tho. that is often the end (of line). anyone in publishing would have drooled to have a vertical full page display. mouse. lasers. even the floppy drive mechanism itself. wasn’t seen by Wozniak (thank goodness). he just pondered the chips and boards needed to do it. came up with a much lighter version with less parts. Apple users wouldn’t of had vertical displays. or. dual page stuff. if it were not for employees leaving. starting Radius. etc.

Monocular vision is not limited to people. The iPhone, iPad and Mac use one camera at a time most of the time so calculating a depth component is something useful. Think of the dot projector and the IR camera of Face ID determining your face is something Apple has been already been doing for some time.

Thanks for sharing, there is little available info on this except from Grayhill. I don't know where you're supposed to get it for $100, so far the main distributors sell it for $200.

Apple seriously needs to create their own KZbin alternative using their podcast platform with p2peer BitTorrent distribution. I guess they are waiting for content creators and the tech geeky shows to return to seeding theirs show to peer networks like back when podcast first started. It’s a shame on both Apple and the ground level Tech community to let independent media get captured by Google and KZbin. Google is winning this race for eyeballs and ear holes aka user’s attention and time, but it’s not too late. Apple used to be very creative in co-opting technologies and put their own special spin and force the other companies to go their way. Add some value for value membership, subscription and ads and basically you have KZbin meets podcast meet p2p! 😊=happy users and content creators. KZbin is not better at shoe and podcast but their secret sauce is building community around show and episodes. I can’t comment and give feedback on Apple podcast and that alone is why Apple podcast is falling off. Apple is scared of risking negative comments on their platform. By Implementing distribution via peer networks and BitTorrent, nobody in particular servers is taxed, it’s greener compared to a central server host and Apple is not liable for the content or comments. Also, would it hurt our geeky technology community it seed their shows to their audience and post the link on their website or their KZbin channel so we can subscribe to the torrent link. No. Anyway, it will take some imagination and technical knowledge to meld these technologies together. It was started in the past by everyone took the path of least resistance and now we are all captured in by Spotify and KZbin.

The reason for the removal of Android in China has nothing to do with Google it has everything to do with the fact that in China there is no Google Play store and so therefore Chinese companies have there own apps stores with links to the Chinese government.

Regarding the smartphones in the classroom and the circumstances where an emergency call or text comes in. I like the idea of clear doors on the cubbyhole. The kids can see the phone is there and any incoming messages or call, the phone lights up. The teacher and the student will see that and the teacher can allow the student to check the phone.

My guess is Apple’s lawyers looked at the situation in detail regarding the EU rules and they saw a vagueness. Rather than show their hand with a detailed question, they are asking their lawyers to take a close look at this new detail and circumstances and get a ruling.

I love Apple products, but I don’t believe we are going to see much of “AI” during this WWDC24. Sorry. I believe most of us are going to disappoint. But just my opinion.

Let power-users dual boot or something. Or something like a virtual manager… I don’t know, many options. Just give us macOS on the iPad Air and iPad Pro.

I do agree. Wonderful hardware, but still just an iPad 😂 if it was running macOS or both in some way, I would have jumped on the iPad Pro straight away!

I got caught in the Apple password fiasco referred to and can verify it was, and still is, A ROYAL PAIN! I’m 7 hours plus into these “app-specific-passwords” and all their ramifications and words cannot describe my level of frustration….and I’m otherwise a pretty mellow guy. Been through this before with identical levels of frustration! GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR😵‍💫😵😴🥸😡😞
