Wow, what a good mixture of spices. I used the exact spices and just added a half tsp dried mango powder. I used sweet potatoes and butter beans, and what a taste. Your mixtures of spices are always perfect, thx.

Question. The cup of vinegar. You soak the chillis in that yes? Do you use the entire cup of vinegar IN the marinade after the soaking?
@SharMissCooking14 сағат бұрын
Yes use the entire cup. Looks like a lot, but you need that ti balance the spices 👍🙂❤️❤️

@SharMissCooking hi, I was too impatient to wait for the beans, I like to soak them overnight, so I made it with red lentils, and also used mustard seeds and nigella seeds, and I have to tell you, it was fricking delicious 😋 ❤️ thankyou 😘

Cooked it, loved it. Used red lentils only, because I have SO many red lentils, it's not funny. I have an aversion to eggplant, so replaced with carrot and potato instead. Pumpkin was butternut. Everything else as written. Marvelous. Next time, I'll probably add more into the veggie mix and keep some aside as a base for other things, or as a dip, or an appetiser...maybe a clove of garlic, some coriander stem, 1/4 of a small onion and a de=seeded green chilli. Nothing too dramatic. Not needed for the curry itself, but just enough to lift the lentil/veggie to stand on its own. Lots of possibilities, here. Thank you, Sharmi.

@SharMissCooking10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the update 🙂. Kewra is an extract from a plant (pandan leaf). You should be able to find it in an Indian store. You can also use rosewater or saffron instead Or totally skip it. 👍❤️❤️❤️

I cooked this recipe for dinner tonight (the Indian version) for my family and as a result I have instantly been elevated to something equal to rock star status within our household. I hightly recommend this recipe to all who are considering it. One tip I would highly recommend it to use the mustard oil. It significantly adds to the flavour over a more neutral oil. This recipe is going onto my keepers list. THANK YOU Sharmi for sharing this amazing recipe!
