I wonder if any of these actual Cars still exist. Be great if one turned up as a barn find

I did two shows in the Leader Lloyd Robertson's car(Commodore VH 308) as a pax. Unforgettable. These boys had real talent and incredible car control.

I still have my LS Monaro I purchased in 87 for 6k and my 72 SS sedan in lime green
@patrioticaussiesams8581 Жыл бұрын
The LS Monaro are very rare. The 72 is based off the Belmont 253 sedan. Holden has always denied that the HQ S was a test sales ploy for the 4 Door Monaro

were these 350s?
@craighardiman1443 жыл бұрын
Hard to say with the cars in the video, but the standard engine was a 253ci V8. 308 & 350ci engine were a factory option
@ceciliapolicarpio18223 жыл бұрын
@@craighardiman144 actually now i think about it, 350s came with the 350 stickers on the front guards like the HGs did,maybe these were 308s but who knows,funny they chose chamois interior for all of them and front bumper over riders except for the pink one...

When the HQ came , you knew the space age was here. It was radically modern.

I remember being a car crazy 10 year old going to the Brisbane Ekka and watching this. I was mesmerised about how these blokes could actually do that stuff. Then we would go to the car pavilion were all the car manufactures were showcasing their goodies. The HQ's and Toranas and Statesmans were there to see along with Chrysler's amazing line up including the Charger.

Jeez I remember as a real little tacker seeing these guys at the 1972 Grafton Show. It was a night time routine and they had red covers over the headlights; I was about 6 years old. Funny enough the driving sequences seen on this vid are virtually the same as they did at the Nowra shows in the VH Commodore V8 they used then. I think in modern times they use Toyota Hilux Utes still, many fond memories of when you were not considered a bogan for enjoying performance Holdens
@stephenvelden2955 жыл бұрын
The Hilux front suspensions break off the chassis (common fault). Nothing is tougher than an old Holden!
