Hello! I'd like to ask you if you have any suggestions on a read that is similar in tone to True Detective S1. With maybe more occult/folk horror? I ask because, based on looking through some of your back catalog of videos, you might be the an expert. Sadly nothing on your Occult Detective post caught my attention. The closest thing I've found is Laird Barron's Isaiah Coleridge series. Thanks for the great videos!

@@d.a.1973 hi, I haven’t seen the True Detective series so I don’t have any recommendations that may compare to it. Recently though my favorite occult horror has been the Feverhouse Duology by Keith Rosson. It’s wildly deranged.☺️📚

@@SynsBookNook Thanks for the reply -- I watched your vid where you covered _The Devil By Name_ , but, for whatever reason, I just wasn't interested. The Gunslinger was slow moving and difficult to understand. Not a fan of Kings writing style in this book. I liked the storyline but it took me a month to read cause I kept taking mental breaks from it. Plus I found myself constantly looking up words and phrases. I am glad I did finish it because I heard it gets better and i am committed.
@SynsBookNook5 күн бұрын
It’s gets way better, this book definitely sets the stage for everything. But it is slow-moving. What’s wild is he wrote this series over the course of 30 years, so his writing improves greatly in each book as you get further in. I believe first book was written in 1982 and the most recent in the series The Wind in the Keyhole was written in 2012.☺️📚
