This seat definitely shows its age and could use an upgrade. Good news though-SWISS is set to start rolling out refreshed cabins as early as 2025! Link: onemileatatime.com/news/swiss-new-first-business-class/

Disappointing for business class. The seats offer no privacy and looked outdated.
@premtravelerYT29 күн бұрын
True! It probably felt cutting-edge when it first launched, but it’s definitely showing its age now. The good news is they’re planning a new configuration rollout starting in 2025.

We recently flew Heathrow to Sydney via Singapore and Brisbane to Heathrow via Singapore in Business Class. I thought the service was outstanding and the meals were delicious, like fine dining. The cabin crew were so attentive. I agree the slanted bed was strange but I still managed to sleep well. The bed on the 350(I think) was aligned properly. I can't wait to fly with Singapore Airlines again.
@premtravelerYT29 күн бұрын
Well said! Singapore Airlines really does have a lot to love. It’d be nice if the A380 and B777 seats were a bit more comfortable. The A350 has three different seat configurations, but only one aligns fully, and the B787s have seats that align perfectly too. Safe travels!

VIA prides itself being a premier rail service, that is if you haven't used trains in Europe or Asia ! Their long distance coach cars were built during 947-55. At the most, VIA would polish or renovate its obsolete stock but won't spend on newer technology. It has been fooling Canadians for decades. Luckily for them, Canadians are simple people who would take anything as "world-class'". In fact both in US & Canada, progressive and fast paced trains have been kept away from public travel for some reason. US is now waking up to the fact that this sector has a huge potential and investing in high speed trains. Canada, as usual, is scaught renovating its 75 year old cars ! The Siemens locomotive seems like a saving grace, it's not that old. It was however designated as an SC-44, but when delivered the locomotives' designation had been changed to SCV-42. Thanks

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's interesting to hear different perspectives on train services across countries. VIA Rail's older fleet definitely shows its age, especially compared to the advanced trains in Europe and Asia. That said, this particular trip was a very good one, and when something is good, it should also be acknowledged. With the new Siemens locomotives and upcoming fleet, it's a step towards modernization. High-speed rail in Canada would definitely be a game-changer, and it’ll be exciting to see how things develop!

@@premtravelerYT Thanks. My views were largely on the overall Rail situation in Canada. Your coach looked decent, sure but overall VIA has a long way to glory !

VIA Rail's "Business Class" is superb with the access to the Panorama Lounges prior to boarding, the hot meals, and the complimentary beer & wine throughout the journey! The key is always to book early to get the cheapest possible ticket price.

Never before I saw such a very nice and brandnew cabin-interior onboard a single-aisle Airbus. Of course alone the "NEO" (Next Engine Option) features brandnew, bigger and quieter engines too.

Hi! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The air faire for a one-way flight to London varies between 7k - 9k SGD. It is also possible to book via points with a partner of Singapore Airlines. In this case, 80k points with Aeroplan made it.

I totally agree that the airport, lounge and inflight service is great but those seats are hard and awkward for sleeping with your legs to the side. Anyone who thinks these seats are the best has obviously not flown other Airlines business class because there is much better out there !

I flew SIA, Mel to London via Sin and NY to Mel last year - business class. The flight and service was exceedingly good, but like you found the seat was terrible, might have been an old A380 but it was same coming back. My cousin and other passengers who I met at the galley area all had the same issue - the seat! We all stood up and chatted. It is a shame as I agree with most other people SIA are very good...but aren't you paying for a seat on the plane?

The partition is because your feet are under the storage area of the seat in front of you, and next to the seat it self in front of you, so the passenger behind you have his/her feet under your storage area on your left. ( on l/h Seats ) The ekstra noise is possibly because you are just behind a passenger door?
@premtravelerYT4 ай бұрын
Exactly! It's probably a tradeoff between more personal space or a well-aligned bed. Regarding noise, I sat in a similar position with Emirates, and it seemed quieter to me
