Excellent Review. I had an FS94 about 5 years ago. Loved everything about it except for the power....it had none. I ended up selling it after a few years and went over to the Shindaiwa T262 (same as the Echo 2620). That thing is a beast but does consume more fuel than the FS94. I was thinking of adding the FS94 again. Do you feel it has enough power for everyday maintenance?
@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
I love the fs94r for everyday maintenance, it’s what I use it for. I wouldn’t want, or need, a 2620 or equivalent for everyday maintenance due to weight and not needing so much power. It’s not that it’s not doable, but in my opinion it’s not necessary. I think it’s good to have both of them and use t262 or 2620 for bigger jobs where you’re cutting a lot of thick weeds or grass that’s overgrown. I think it’s good to have both.

@@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same but that FS94 is expensive here in Canada where I am....$520 Canadian.
@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
Wow! It’s $360 here. Maybe you can find a good used one. If you can justify the price from the amount of use you’ll get from it, it still may be worth it.

It held up great, no problems with it. I liked it real well. I took it off a few months back to install a mulch kit which blocks off the chute completely. Mainly wanted to see how a much kit was on this mower, I like that so far as well.

Love my 94r. Just put an auto feed head on it. It's a year old and wouldn't get enough rpm to engage the clutch. Checked the screen on the muffler. Plugged up tighter than Toby's ass. Took it out and more power than brand new. I use it about 30 hrs a week for 30 weeks a year. Highly recommend it too!

I just bought one of these yesterday I got to say I love it it has quite a bit of power definitely a lot more than my old echo SRM 231 and it feels a lot more quality I bought a bleed attachment for it haven’t used it yet because I heard that you want to go easy on the engine for about 2 to 3 tanks which I’m doing I think this trimmer is just the best for anything that you want to do it may not do somethings like a more powerful one but it still can do it decent I really like it and if you’re thinking about buying it I highly recommend it it is insanely good on gas

Weed eater. LMAO. I trim mostly grass. LOL. As a home owner turned lawn care professional, I know how many lawns I can trim before re-fueling. I rarely use my string trimmer to clear tall grass. No matter the power or swath, it’s way more work and time consuming. Grab the right tool to complete the job as fast and efficiently as you can. I have tried a lot of trimmers, currently own an Echo 2620 and an FS94. Prefer the Stihl based on a lot of the things you pointed out. I don’t like Stihls 4mix tech because of poor throttle response, and as you pointed out, way lighter. Great job! Thanks for the vid!
@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance3 жыл бұрын
Lol, I rarely do as well. The 2620 is good too. I prefer the fs94 for most all jobs I do. It’s perfect in my opinion, for maintained lawns due to its power/weight ratio. I definitely agree with the right tool for the job, makes all the difference👌🏼

@@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance I just bought the FS 94 again after getting talked into replacing it with the Echo. As you pointed out, the Stihl is lighter and has way better ergos. Thanks for the info in the trigger, with the dial turned down and the ability to go to full throttle applying! them return to your setting. Didn’t know that. I did add the Echo speed feed head though. Must have addition! Thanks again!

I use a 94r and a Husqvarna 525L for maintained properties. I switch back and forth between them. Each has their positives and negatives but if I had to choose one it would be the 94. It just feels more solid and the trigger on the 525L is kind of flimsy. But the 525L is way more consistent and reliable as far as starting both cold and hot. It's like clockwork. I used to use an FS56 RC with an old FS55 for a back up. They were ok but the fuel tanks were waaaayyyy too small. I beat the crap out of them taking down a neglected properties before. Wide open on hot days and they just ran and ran. I use Amsoil 100:1 with non ethanol fuel and they never acted like they were getting hot or were lacking for lubrication at all. I have never clogged an exhaust screen either.
@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance4 жыл бұрын
I’ve never used any Husqvarna trimmers, so I don’t know much about them. I like using the 94r for maintained properties too. I usually have no problems starting it, but sometimes I do have to give it a few more pulls when it’s hot out and I’ve been using it a while. Other than that no issues. I use stabil fuel treatment, but Amsoil is a good brand for sure. I want to try out either the 91r or 111r next.
@therealRustyShackleford4 жыл бұрын
@@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance it looks like the 91r and the 111r are basically the same machine except the 111r has a slightly bigger engine and a little more power. The 111rx is about 2 pounds lighter than both the 91r and the 111r with the same specs otherwise.
@FreshCutsLawnMaintenance4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 111rx is what I was eyeing. Either one I go with, I’ll do another review. I’m sure either would be good.
