Pixels, aren't they made by Pixies? Much more likely. Wiper fluid, oil dip stick checks, oil in gas station, burst coke. Liquids? Oh, literally it's all about 'my immersions'.

Typical humerous S/Tac opening discourse. " We're in the 1980's, we don't know that yet... " Ironically said to fellow squad members who may well not even have been born yet in the 80's - ROFL 🤣

It’s been serious fun watching your channel, and more often than not you make it seriously funny MG. I swear to god I know your voice from somewhere, pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to Canadian comic, with glasses, and possibly parties with Dave Foley on occasion lol.. anyways thanks for the content and the laughs man, Happy New Year!

Should have gone the science teacher character- they would have been using the chem. lab to make illicit hooch and breaking bad. But then it would have been called 'Tequila sunrise' - so, does the early bird get the worm? And then the only laps they would have been doing is a lapse of reason.

What terrible terrain to be SL on. Well done! Yeah that choice of LZ at the end and those marked (are they even defensible?) positions was on those up the chain. Ouch.

You clearly should 'turn tail' in a ZSU, even if exposing your weaker armor. Reverse is just too damn slow. • 29:01 Sh*t! Reverse! Boom. 30:30 "I called it out", "A2 ran right past them". Love to be a fly on the wall on the debrief. :) • 50:50 shhhHHH-WOOSH! Reverse! 51:22 Boom.
@lexicdarkАй бұрын
Yep. Forward fast to cover! (Turn as needed. eg 'get behind those blown bears on the left') That dash onto the airstrip after 45:55 to take offensive action was good - and shows what a ZSU can do... WW2 German tactic was to move 50m stop, have the gunner shoot, and move and shoot again. as required. needs good crew communications though. I guess that's the difference (in a nutshell) between US and Soviet doctrine - which was 'maneuver to base of fire while under fire' rather than a US 'base of fire then maneuver' tactic (somewhat badly paraphrased but you get the idea) Yes, it may seem counterintuitive. It's really good to run at air because they overshoot and it's really bad for them to aim lower, whereas for reversing it gives them much more time on target (and especially if it's slow reverse). Also, when the ZSU23s were made it was considered that there was no running away from the enemy allowed... so in design the only reason for reverse is for positioning. (but I digress) Also I would say that radar ranging is important as it provides more detail at closer range settings for closer targets BUT I do not know how or if ARMA 3 implements it on the ZSU model. (requires further investigation)

Just got to watch Harrier's Charlie angle on this scenario... It really brings home the difference between an 'every man for themself' withdrawal vs a somewhat staged withdrawal. Glad you repeatedly pulled up and defended others withdrawing with cover fire and your AAR for sticking with you (like they should) but it made all the difference in your, and your squad, and even other squad's survival numbers. Raster receives a gold star on his assignment. It felt like you were doing 'the right thing to do' given the 'run away' directives. (and the rats did scurry...) Even better, it would have been nice if the SLs had organised and managed staged withdrawal action - instead of just telling people to run (and get shot in the back). There's nothing more fun than when the kids play a good game of leap frog (or caterpillar). Another small thing is that if you can't normally get a good view (like from a roadside post) then hassle someone with binoculars to direct your fire when you're set up on the flat or road (one of FTLs jobs is 'to direct fire for his team' so have them do it, or SL...). Sure it's a hassle not seeing targets but you can deliver effective fire if well directed - you can be the indirect fire machine. (It's a bit 'next level' but does happen IRL) And then on your next maneuver phase find somewhere that does have a good view for a firing position...

"Let's go to the beach...", hang on a sec we have to go back for friends... or did we get sun-burn and have to go back to hospital? again, again, again. ("let's go back to hospital again" would have been a nice little premise for the story... better than 'A weekend at Bernice's". Sorry, sorry! Anyway...) The story seemed a little cathartic but the ending credits set me back in the right context (looping back to memories of the start heli intro. discussion. Ah). Also seems my SL wishes came true, although only briefly. lols. Thanks to our lead action actor MGBait and his ability to present this script well.

As long as both are acting at (and not beyond) their level of competence, which is true here. (BTW, FTLs aren't supposed to RAT, they direct fire of their team = success.) I want to see MGBait take on SL more, given competence as FTL is high - unlike some others, showing good communications and tactical ability.
