I lived there in the early 90s, lots of partying, had a great time in my 20s. Definitely wouldn't want to live there now though, way too busy.

I appreciate your honest feedback. It's true that places can change a lot over time, and it's not always for the better. Congestion and growth can sometimes take away from what made an area special in the first place. Thank you for sharing your perspective-it's important to hear how others feel about these changes.

This is so great :D Thanks! With so much development over the last fear years/decades this will be basically a time capsule. Just imagine of a walking video from when youtube was first launched back in 2005/6 and see all the changes. It's great for people who are interested in moving to Coquitlam but don't particularly drive. It's great to see so many things within walking distance :D 15:12 That used to be Seoul Truck which was one of my favourites.

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic response! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video and found it insightful. You made an excellent point about how the video serves as a time capsule of sorts, capturing the evolution of Coquitlam over the years. It's fascinating to witness the changes and developments firsthand, especially for those who may be considering a move to the area and prefer walking as their primary mode of transportation. It's always nostalgic to reminisce about favorite spots like Seoul Truck, and I'm glad the video could evoke those memories for you. Your feedback is invaluable, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. If there are any other aspects of Coquitlam you'd like to see featured in future videos, feel free to let me know! Thanks again for your support and engagement.

Interesting that it's called Sheila Barrett Park when it's basically just a green patch of grass XD 16:00 is so typical of Coquitlam right now = development! Lots of tall buildings. I live in an apartment that has been here since for many decades and it's so short due to its construction materials. I like living in the city that has built up around me

These vida are great since they show more of Coquitlam than just the mall or skytrain or most frequented roads/walkways. It's like a video version of "travelling" via Google maps. One thing I like is that these are places that locals would probably know but not far away from the most frequented places that it's basically "unknown".

Thank you for your positive feedback! I'm glad you enjoy the videos and appreciate the opportunity to showcase lesser-known aspects of Coquitlam beyond the usual spots. It's rewarding to offer viewers a unique perspective and highlight places that may be familiar to locals but aren't often featured in mainstream content. Creating a video version of "travelling" via Google Maps is an interesting comparison, and I'm honored to provide that experience for you. Stay tuned for more videos exploring the hidden gems of Coquitlam!

@@Canada.WalkingTours Some things that could be added to the list of Coquitlam ideas is to add in strip malls that are "majority minority". For example, at Glen and Johnson, a walkabout that shows all those stores would showcase Assi Market that offers Korean foods. Lincoln Center has lots of stores as well. Henderson Place has New Pacific Market that offers Chinese foods and the food court is always a favourite of mine. Even mini-videos of walking around Kensington Plaza on The High Street is worthwhile -- very little there, but that could be part of the appeal since it's not a place many people would go and it's very easy to become a recognizable regular there. In short, although Coquitlam Center gets most of the attention, it's all the blocks around Coquitlam Center that really showcase what living in Coquitlam could be like for those who take the time to walk around and explore the place they live. Although I've definately had the same old soft drinks and the typical fast food at the food court, and been to Walmart, Best Buy, or London Drugs, or Purdy's, T+T, etc., I have also loved going to a completely new food business, looking a menu and not being able to read anything on it and having to pay only in cash.

Thank you for sharing these fantastic suggestions for showcasing the diversity and unique experiences in Coquitlam! Exploring places such as Glen and Johnson, Lincoln Center, and Henderson Place, sounds like an excellent idea. Additionally, the idea of featuring lesser-known spots like Kensington Plaza on The High Street adds an intriguing twist, as these places often hold hidden gems waiting to be discovered. You're absolutely right that while Coquitlam Center may receive much of the spotlight, it's the surrounding blocks and neighborhoods that truly capture the essence of living in Coquitlam. I appreciate your insightful commentary, and I'll definitely consider incorporating these suggestions into my April's videos to provide a more comprehensive view of Coquitlam. Your input is invaluable in shaping the content and ensuring it resonates with the community. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and enriching the conversation!

Nice walk :D Although I live here, I like how these videos are like time capsules of what Coquitlam is like. I wish these kind of things was around back in the late 80s/early 90s when I was a kid since then I could see how much it changed. I would love it if you could do a walkround from Lafarge Lake-Douglas Skytrain, down Guilford -- Johnson -- Glen -- Pinetree then up to Douglass College and a small tour of the library. It was like my home away from home, even though it was within walking distance.

@@Canada.WalkingTours Thanks -- I think it's because I like these nostalgic/experience videos. For example, anyone who has walked around Douglas College, Coquitlam City Hall, or the City Center Aquatic Complex, would be able to relate. I would have added the library but that moved to near Henderson Place around 10 years ago.
