Hi, I'm seeing your video for the first time, this one made me want to see more. Unfortunately, I noticed from the other two I saw that I couldn't save them on KZbin Playlist for future references because you didn't allow/enable it, or the videos are categorized as contents made for kids. Is this intentional?

Hello Olaijo Nice. I do like drums but have never drummed before. I am thinking of it as a leisure activity. How do I get started?
@augustineefeola4 жыл бұрын
Well first you need to first get your own personal drum of your interest. You can start from the smallest which is not too expensive or from the highest which is expensive, it depend on how buoyant you're financially. Then after you have your own personal instrument, you can now seek for an instructor to teach and put you through. Is easier that way. Hope this help?

If the tonations on the omele are slightly off, is there a way to tune the drums?
@augustineefeola6 жыл бұрын
Yes. First the problem might be from the tuning wax or the skin. if the problem is from the skin, that means you'll have to tighten the Antelope string called osan and if it from the tunning wax called ida, that means you'll have to change it.
@damiojo86726 жыл бұрын
Augustine Efe Ola I really appreciate your response brother. I just picked up the drums last week and I’m in the U.S (Atlanta). I believe the drum skin is in great condition, but the ida seems to be peeling off slightly. What substance can I use as alternative?
@augustineefeola6 жыл бұрын
Am sorry there's no alternative. There's nothing you can use to improvise. The Ida is specially design for the bata drum and few drum from the Yoruba tribe of Africa and Diaspora. The only thing you can do is to protect the ida on your drum by covering it with Lyon and the face has stain already, you can use kerosene to clean it, the face will become white again but don't let the kerosene to touch the side of the ida. You can keep on managing it till you come back to Nigeria and change the ida.
