What a garbage cover of Glenn Sherrocks brilliant original. This version would have been just another forgotten song.

This guy can't hold a candle to Glenn Shorrock. He had such a pure voice and didn't sing this song too fast.

Stephen Houston's dominant guitar playing wrecks this song. Poor John. His singing and performance is great. I believe he received a lot of criticism and really it was about that dreadful dominating guitar playing of Stephen Housten. Awful.

With all due respect to the people who put the ad together, maybe using the song that was used fairly recently for a failed left-wing campaign isn't the best idea for a left-wing candidate. Yes, the campaign did happen in a different country, but (a) it was in the country where the song is most famous (so much for appealing to nostalgia), and (b) the Internet knows no geographic bounds. (There's a massive difference between disliking a candidate and thinking they may have stuffed up their marketing; no political slogans by either side could help the economy, make peace, stop climate change et cetera.)

Oh my god John! This would have to be one of the greatest performances of such a beautiful song I’ve ever heard you do, or anyone do. Such power, emotion and soul. You are no doubt the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time. Thank you you blessing us with all these years of your golden voice.

THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is MUSIC. This is what hours of practice, training, rehearsing and perfecting your craft nets you. Timeless classic tunes that command attention. Computer-generated, pitch-corrected crap isn't fit to light a candle against these musicians.

This marked a change in Little River Band’s music. It was the first album after Glenn Shorrock departed and was replaced by John Farnham. Farnham must have had a lot of influence in the band because the musical direction changed somewhat.

I have ocd in many parts of my life that helps and hinders, enjoying music is one that is 50/50 I am nothing special musically I play a few instruments and I understand basic music theory but I constantly find myself upset at the chord progressions and note choices in even my favorite songs by my favorite artists, I often resort to playing the songs myself on whatever instrument I can to try and make it sound how I'd prefer to no avail because I am not good lol it can be an upsetting repetitive cycle when all I want to do is enjoy a song. This performance does something for me that no other song ever has, not only does he make choices that almost instantly alleviate the activity of my ocd but every choice he makes is exactly what I want to hear. It brings me to tears writing this I don't really fully know why but it's as if the buzzing in my head 24/7 quite literally goes away for five minutes and 8 seconds. My mind trusts him almost immediately and my ocd fades away allowing me to truly enjoy the song. I would say for those interested; Aretha Franklin is probably the only other one I can think of that does something similar for me. Freddie Mercury about 70% of the time too, I don't know if it means anything or is just my own weirdness but to me that says something about the quality of music. I listen to a lot of music. lastly, Joshua Ledet's performance of "Jar of Hearts" is another for me <3

Daryl reed was a terrible human being. A multiple time cheater. A terrible role model for his children. He smashed the lives of everything he touched. This was his favourite song.
