Heirloom sewing is nice with winged needles. I use a water soluable Stabilizer to hold the stitching into place. I also use a linen or natural fiber fabric and a lighter weight 50 thread. thanks

It is hard to beat the safety and convenience of the Olfa ergonomic design cutter...it closes automatically and you do not need to push buttons to open, close or lock. I would not want a cutter that can be left open by mistake.

Hi Connie, after seeing you using it I purchased one but when I put the orange thing down it doesn’t stay, please kindly advise. Thank you so much ❤

- Probably works best on smooth, solid, non-porous surfaces - Dust might affect it and a little moisture might help. Try cleaning the suction base and the tabletop with a damp cloth. - Least likely, but still a possibility... It could be broken. If you got it in a store, take it back and ask for help -- either instruction or a replacement. Good luck!

Oh, I need this pillow case template! What a fun looking project. I can only imagine how wild your imagination can get with the decorative stitches and techniques Husqvarna Viking machines have.

I agree! Where would we find the info. for actually setting up the machine for the stitch out?

This technique has decorated petticoats since the mid 1800s. Instead of folding under and using a glue stick, I was taught to fold them inside and whip stitch closed for a smoother look. Glue can get messy in the wash.

Soni, Maybe it would be a good idea to change the background color of the screen so we could see better. Soni, thank you for this helpful information. I really appreciate seeing how to do this on my new Viking Epic 3.

Chanced upon this show recently, and I must say, Martha's Sewing Room is a fantastic find! The classic, detailed approach in your tutorials, especially the one on crazy patchwork, is a refreshing change from the fast-paced DIY videos out there. I appreciate the emphasis on taking things at a steady pace and truly savoring the craftsmanship. Your showcase of vintage nightgowns is not only elegant but also serves as a great inspiration for my upcoming projects. Thank you for generously sharing your creativity and expertise. Looking forward to more insightful episodes!

I am in LOVE with this entire episode! I truly, truly need to have the design for the doily! All things Vintage is my Joy and Love :) PLEASE....help me find this exact design! Being able to re-create something from 100 or so years ago is something that is so very rare these days and I feel a strong need to keep it *alive* every chance I get. Will you help direct me to this exact design? I searched the site but sadly, could not find. Thank you:)

I have been a fan of Phyllis's for many years. I was saddened and shocked to hear of her passing. She is the epitome of a life well lived. I am sure she is stitching away for her Lord. ❤
