Project Spark had a ton of potential. I can't believe they just gave up on it like that. Then again, seeing Project Spark die like that was a wakeup call for me.

I remember finding out about this game from Linkin Park's music video for their song "Guilty all the Same". Good times

I literally thought this game never came out in part because they didn’t change the title which seemed like a codename.

I only know this gane because Guilty all the same by Linkin Park is my favourite song of theirs. And for some reason, they promoted this game in that song

Dreams is doing better cause there’s no monthly subscription that’s where spark screwed up I didn’t buy the game when I heard about there being a monthly subscription to play and make games so I never bought the game but i did buy dreams cause I can still play and make games online even without a PSN subscription that’s a win in my book 📖

I'm mourning for an experience I never had. Project spark seemed like the coolest thing ever to my young self, and really made me feel inspired creatively, but half the time I tried the family computer could only manage 0-3 frames per second. The other half of the time it crashed before even getting to the main menu. I have vivid memories of project spark, and all of them are dissapointing. I specifically remember a community creation named Rebirth of The Prince. I only remember the title. I have no idea what the actual project was like; I thought the title sounded very cool and probably beautiful. I think the failure of project spark is the primary reason I will never be happy.

I do wonder something. Has anyone ever attempted to go out of bounds in the demo? Are the areas outside Kokiri Forest still there? Does the game crash? Do the loading zones lead to different areas instead? Are there even loading zones in the areas you'd expect?
@TurnerScreen9 ай бұрын
From my memory having clipped out of bounds years ago Hyrule Field still loads in but it's incomplete and is highly prone to crashing. Entering Lon Lon Ranch would instantly crash, more than likely due to the map data not being there.
@e-mananimates22749 ай бұрын
@@TurnerScreen I guess the entrances for Hyrule Castle and Kakariko Village are either not loaded or crash once you approach, right?
@TurnerScreen9 ай бұрын
@@e-mananimates2274 I don't believe I tried to enter them but I'd assume a crash given the data shouldn't be there to access.
@e-mananimates22749 ай бұрын
@@TurnerScreen That's a reasonable assumption. Perhaps someone should dump the kiosk demo and see if they could find anything interesting and even see if the Lost Woods entrance actually works.

@TurnerScreen10 ай бұрын
Normal retail circulation ended years ago but there are plenty of eBay sellers and local game stores that sell new copies between $7-15 these days. You are more or less limited to the content shown here as official online functions are decommissioned.

I really miss project spark. I kept it installed for years after its service ended and eventually, you couldn’t get past the main menu. I really really miss it and wish it would come back.

My parents bought this for me thinking there were 5 games. The store clerk from Best Buy also thought it was for 5 games. I have no idea why they sold this. Edit: i also think it was a promotion disc given when my parents bought my gamecube.

Dreams is absolutely mindblowing. I’ve been playing it for two weeks and I’m just blown away. Essentially you get 100,000 game for $20. There are 100,000+ games within dreams. Isn’t truly a must play and absolutely incredible.

the reason nothing is really different here is because this demo was built AFTER the retail build. also, this demo is labeled the "Best Buy Demo" in the files

This game probably also suffered from the fact that the Xbox one didn't sell well at launch. New IPs like Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, ReCore and Quantum Break all didn't really sell a a big amount like Halo and Forza Horizon. It does make me curious if this game could of survived if it was sold on PC and Game Pass.
@morsumbra9692 Жыл бұрын
Think of this paired with Fortnite, minecraft or RoBlox... and make the default code language easy but allow for legit game code like Unity. Might even be able to monetize similarly to KZbin and Content creators?

When I was really young I only had a GameCube, a gameboy and a few of games. I played this demo disc to death. I was like 5 years old so I could never figure out how to download the demos to my GBA even though I had the gameboy cable. Tried so hard to the play the Warioware demo that my mom eventually went to GameStop and just bought the game for me.

I used to love spark, playing many different games, one I distinctly remember is this conker pool game, where you ran around on a ball, and knocked the other enemies who were on balls into the holes with a bat, I found an inf health exploit and abused it. And this space horror where this thing attacks the spaceship, I never finished it because my 7 year old brain didn't like the blood and sounds
