Yes, LET could certainly be used to store the range.

TrimRange will be simply brilliant. No more counta(range) to determine where the range ends along with indirect and other Complicated crap!!!!! And I have never heard of the full stop use inside the range. New one today

M365 is not the only pice of the puzzle. You will also have to join a specific update channel for M365 called Beta 100% guaranteed that they will be there as new features are being rolled out gradually.

There is no REGEXSEARCH function. In order to access REGEXTEST, REGEXEXTRACT, and REGEXREPLACE, you must become a Microsoft 365 Insider and opt for the Beta Channel. Go to File > Account and you'll see the option there.

this is a great work around! do you have a solution for pivot tables? it seems to change the conditional formatting to exclude the pivot table cells after you close the document and re open

When adding multiple sentences in between the "%0A%0A" lines, it returns "#VALUE" error. Is there a character limit?

You haven't got to worry about the character limit for a cell, as that is 32,767. However, does the problem only occur with multiple sentences?

You can copy and paste the VBA code into the other sheet objects you want it to work for. Then, duplicate the conditional formatting rule as many times as you need, ensuring the ranges reference the appropriate sheet. However, you may not like that approach. How is it possible to do this for multiple sheets? When I try to do more than one sheet the title is the same on every one, e.g. always saying 'sheet 1' no matter which sheet I have done the formula on

Works great for me. (Edit - I just noticed if I dble click random cell, then click one I want, it does it, so can skip F9 - very fast moving around) What could be done to reverse as fast -I can't see a quick way. So at moment just select empty line in top row and leave there. Otherwise can leave where is doesn't really matter in practice

Interesting approach, you can also use LET(_comment; "This is a comment for my formula";...), but not convenient like the O365 "New Comment" feature (not "New Note"). I use N to force True or False to 1 or zero.
