Thanks for the update on the injured cub. You did a great job of filming this. What Is the closest airport to fly into when visiting this from the lower 48. This has got to be on my bucket list!!!

Y'all look at both babies. One is scared, and the other is acting hurt. I've watched a lot of osprey chicks from egg to fledge, and the only time I've seen this type of behavior is when there was an attack on the nest. Why not show us what happened between both of them lying down and what's going on before the chick fell? Some of the video is missing.

Geez, this is not just sad but odd! it almost look like the little was having a seizure before falling. Both chicks fell from the very same area which is so unusual. Very sad.

birds shrink their stretch wings before get up on their feet, & now people baby had some problems & seizure, blaming the baby osprey, young bird babies have no balance, not steady on their feet. mom kept looking down for the baby, if baby bird is on its back for 3+min then it dies, i saw the video six times, RIP Baby yow were loved

i wasn't blaming the bird, it looked like a seizure to me. The weather in Montana where the nest has been extremely hot, high 90's and some over 100 some days...that can cause all kinds of illness, dehydration, etc. I do agree with you though that if someone went up to the nest to get rid of twine it would have been great if they had thought of adding some rails to that left side of the nest. I haven't kept up with this nest in a couple years, the video clips about both baby birds popped up on my You Tube page. Sometimes these live or recorded nature videos can be too sad, a lot of unforeseens happen, etc to the point i can't watch them. Similar sad events with Elephant videos i follow, sad stuff there too.

Agree,that it had a seizure. Throwing of head backwards,and spasm like movements,going over the edge,something not right

I watched it a couple times and I think the seizure theory is right. However, I still say they cut some of the video out. Also, if they try to fix the nest while chicks are in it (especially if it's large predator birds) the parents are likely to attack. They could have fixed it in between nesting times though.

saw the video, bird was trying to get up, baby Osprey got legs tangled in twine, @ Charlo, MT, this morning black SUV came & remove the twine, & left 39 days baby with wings stretch out, inches from the edge (same edge where #3 fell, they couldn't bring some long sticks for the left side, you see in replay after the owls, ie video starts after the pause), as they left baby struggles to get up, tried to use its wings, it got up slight up right with stretch wings, lost its balance & fell, SUV comes back, pu the bird & throws in back seat, birds shrink their stretch wings before get up on their feet, & now people baby had some problems & seizure, blaming the baby osprey, young bird babies have no balance, not steady on their feet. that nest is too small, & left side is death trap, mom kept looking down for the baby, if baby bird is on its back for 3+min then it dies, i saw the video six times, RIP Baby yow were loved
