Oh, after quite some time of absence myself I just stumbled unto this. As the others already posted: Just do what you really want to. What's the use of spending one's spare-time with something one does not like very much? Will keep the Abo and stop by now and then to see what you may be up to! Have a good time! :)

Great band. And yeah, they are black metal, but some albums are more so than others. This album has a bit of death metal to it.

I've read that Rammstein was asked whether this is a goodbye of the band and they answered that this is not their intention and they don't have plans to end up with their music. The whole album - which has a kind of melancholic touch (even in the funny tracks) - was made under the impression of personal losses of the band members. In this context, lyric-wise "Adieu" looks to me as the feeling of a lost fight against death ... not of the own death, but of loved ones ... and to finally accept that there is nothing to stop it. A kind of sad acceptance of the inevitable. Video-wise they are referencing to the time when they had produced their album "Mutter" and almost parted and had to reinvend themselves - which they did fortunately. And there are a lot of references to other movies, e.g. Joker, Matrix, Immortals.

I discovered that band recently and enjoyed this and your reaction to it. First watching the original video, I wasn't sure, what was more disturbing...the knives or Chinos ear-piercing shrieks he also does in other songs. I can't handle this frequencies, it triggers me a lot. Despite that it's a typical Deftones song, wild sexy and with enough speed and heavyness to dance to. The lyrics are very disturbing, ambiguous as always, in combination with the video it reminds me of knife-play fetish/weapon-fetish. It's weird, especially for people with SH experience. It seems to be an issue for Chino, as there is also that song called "Knife Prty", musically the same, very good. I often mute music videos to fully concentrate on the visual images and the protagonists acting there. Looking at Chino....i know someone this type of guy. Wild, excessive and unhinged, I bet he is..... I'm curious which song you pick next 😊.

Every big institution of power has fear as its foundation. Any propaganda is based on fear. Propaganda mixes truth and lies. If you look carefully, you will see when you are being lied to. Therefore, it should be too scary for you to look closely. When they shout at you, "There's a black man there." You must close your eyes and ears, and do everything so that he does not touch you. Why is all this necessary? There is an ancient principle - divide and conquer. And power is the manic idea of those psychopaths who climb into governments.

The fact is that time does not exist at all. Time is an abstract concept, much like mathematics. All kinds of changes are happening, interconnected or not. Chaotic or orderly. Our life is a continuous change. And it certainly has an end. To somehow describe and make sense of all this, people invented time. And now they consider it to be something unified. It's like ether, the ancients thought that the world floats in an ocean of some kind of ether. But there is no "ether", and there is no time either. Every change we see is different in nature and has its own meaning.

This song is interesting and philosophically quite meaty. It can be read as political criticism of totalitarian parties who try to fool and seduce people into fake safety in exchange for their vote and joining their party. Or, I can be read as the rise of civil society, where it became more fruitful to tame your luck in life in exchange for safety and security by hard work and organization of the civil soceity.

Very interesting topic, as I am interested in psychology and psychiatry. I guess then I 'm not one of the BPDs. I've experienced people like this. They were very delicate and hard to handle for me. It felt like walking on a minefield. Everything I said, everything I did could have caused a great drama. Those constant thoughts about what others think of them, that clingy behaviour.

Lyrically, like almost everything by Rammstein, the song is interesting, but melodically it doesn't touch me. But I like Rammstein as much as I like you and your reactions. Keep it up and greetings from Germany.

This band influenced Sleep Token and many others so much. Just listen to "Goon Squad" and you will know at once, what Sleep Token song that is. Just stolen, LOL they worship Deftones. Just to bomb you with more suggestions for melodic soft shoegazy songs🙃: "Rosemary", "Entombed", "Sextape" (my fav.) And "Diamond Eyes". They are the kings of baddicore for sure.

That band is great and I love that song. Chino's voice is strong and seductive and he can hit high ranges, too. The lyrics and their story are quite violent and it's not hard to guess why our both most beLovEd pianO player choose that song to play on his piano 😏.

Cool, what you've discovered. Well...no just no! To anyone who knows the original versions this just sounds awful. Somehow out of tune out of time. I cannot listen to that, drives me mad 🤪.Synthwave is nice but not on this band. One thing I'd really would appreciate is, if Sleep Token would do some R'n B stuff or Jazz like in Aqua Regia. Vessel's got a voice for that. Or maybe songs with a faster tempo or at least one happy song just to hear it once. And of course some more really heavy metal stuff.

That's an interesting theory. I once read about lucid dreaming and only remember, that it's a dream, where you are aware, that you're dreaming and you can have an influence on what is going on then. Or you think about a situation or problem that is unsolved before falling asleep and then dream of that situation and solve the occurring problems in your dream Talkin' 'bout III: I just think, it's because of the band's way to communicate with their fans through gestures and handsigns. Well, III is the only one that communicates also verbally sometimes and I just love that, his voice, his accent.

My theory about III's question mark is that if a fan is interacting with him and he can't understand what the fan is trying to say, that's where he extends his hand with the question mark! That's my funny theory 😂😂😂 But yours is so much deeper and makes me think about if I ever lucid dreamed because I can't remember if I did! Hmm, I should try and see what happens! If I do it I'll post it on tumblr :3

I guess it's not primarly about the fear one has about the future but about the fear that is spread by "crazy politician" via media. So they can recommend simple measures (more surveillance, more control for the government, more oppression, ...) which they will provide when they are elected. I assume Rammstein is playing with the double meaning of "black man". Some politicians and media spread fear about refugees comming to Europe. And even though most of them are not black, they might look a bit different and give a trigger to xenophobia ... which those politicians try to use for their own goals. So "crazy" politicians (one of the two roles, Till plays in the video) and indifferent media just seeking for attention are a dangerous combination. (That is at least my interpretation.) (Short explanation for those not familiar with some parts of German culture: Originally "black man" stands for a kind of bogeyman (or death) in German. There is an old catch and run children's game. One child is the "black man", starting with the phrase "Who's afraid of the black man?". The others answer "No one." ... "And when he comes?" ... "Then we run." The children run away and try to escape the "black man". When one is catched, it is the next "black man". I guess that's originated from medivial time when the plague (or "black death") killed half of the population of Europe. Infected people partly got a black skin and and children were told to stay away from them.)

Very interesting theory! It makes me understand Rammstein a little better because I don't know German and can't understand what Till(I hope i wrote his name right 😅) is singing about! Also I have a suggestion for your next video to review some of Linkin Park songs if you want of course! No pressure though it's up to you! ♥️♥️♥️

This video is Rammteins/Till's way of showing that you are being influenced far too much by Influencer/populists on the internet at this time. They create fear to isolate you from your safe environment. "Everyone else means badly for you, just trust me." The whole video is in black and white. Because that's the way the world is. There is only good and evil. Only at the end, when Till destroys the TV and thus the outside influence, does color come back into life. Fun fact. At the end on the couch, they eat foam kisses. These used to be called Negro kisses. That was never meant disrespectfully. Now we have to say foam kisses. Because we're all so woke.

Original of sample was Vera Hall in 1937. Moby sampled it himself. Ren resonated with her lyric "Ain't nobody know my troubles but God".

Hi there, very interesting Interpretations. I agree with most of them. That song is in my opinion the summary of most of what the band is able to do. And that transition in the music with a paradise-like beginning with birds and stuff untill that unexpected breakdown that throws you right into hell. It's just epic. As I'm no native english speaker it's often hard to decipher their lyrics. Some lines could also be just english idioms. The part where he' s rapping could portray a hospital scene or withdrawal from drugs or something like that. He feels like cold cuts, pieces of meat, in a freezer, not like a human. That paystub thing....maybe his former project or relationship. Some songs could connect with that also. Godmother....someone in his life, who is dead and therefore couldn't witness his life now. Eden is not a person but a state of being, I think. Do you know ProjectJango channel here? He dives into their lyrics as well. Greetings from Chilivani 😉.
